Fuyu persimmon fruits on one branch only

I have 6-7 year old persimmon tree. Seems healthy, I prune and thin it annually (from about 10 down to 6 feet). One branch sets fruit. Only one. The same branch each year. I get a smattering of flowers on the other branches but not much. I do not think the fruit is setting and dropping on the other branches, but I can't be sure. I'm baffled and considering removing the tree and starting over, because even if I had beaten the birds, squirrels and deer to all the fruit I still would have had about 8 persimmons. Why would only one section of the tree produce?

thanks!
