Zeon or Emerald Zoysia ?

I have a fescue lawn in Wake Forest, NC, and I've about had enough of it. Looking to move to zoysia. Went to a friends house and they have Emerald zoysia, looks very nice and feels great under your feet.

I've been reading that Zeon is the replacement for Emerald, is more shade tolerant and has less thatch issues - but that is also is not as dark green or not as fine bladed as Emerald.

So I'm looking for some opinions here based on your actual experiences with these two cultivars. I really really liked the look and feel of Emerald - is Zeon close? Is Zeon more shade tolerant than Emerald or are they about the same?

Also, considering buying the sod and installing myself. Lesco in Raleigh (John Deere Landscapes) quoted $0.38/sq ft for 10 palettes of Zeon (5000 sq ft) - can I get it any cheaper than that - so far that's the cheapest I've seen.

I've seen Emerald at the farmers market for about $0.43 sq ft for 10 palettes.
