best acid tolerant ground cover legumes

We often hear of clover lawns, an idea which I like, expecially for informal and/or large properties.

What are some good clovers, or other similar, ground-cover suitable legumes that can tolerate and perform reasonably well in the more acidic soils of the Eastern US without liming? pH around 5.0 - 5.7 or so.

Mostly academic but pertains to some lots I have looked at in PA.
