Rescued Garden Wagon

This old wagon was free. It needed a lot of preserving so I went ahead and varnished it. A few words and it became a Whimsy Wagon for Fall Decorating.

susiewantsrosies...I LOVE that you got a camera (give that son an extra hug!)...thanks for sharing your pics...this ol' wagon found it's purpose...good recycling!

I see you're using "photobucket"...this pic above is large on my screen and I have to scroll down and over and see it in parts...have you tried the "edit" where you can choose a diff. size? Experiment, a bit...and see what you think! Although with this large pic, I can see everything up-close! Love seeing all these new pics from you! Jeanne S.

That is SO COOL! How funny, I was just at Lowes looking at their citrus plants for Giant Swallowtail eggs and cats and I know the guy working there thought I was crazy looking so hard at every leaf then just walking off! Good luck!

Meijer - look to the right, you should see their ad, plus there's a banner ad at the top of this forum. On my monitor anyway. luckygal, I hear you. In fact this morning, I was thinking the same thing about the 100lb. capacity thing. By the time a gardener would load up what she/he needed for most any chore, it would be way over the weight limit. I especially want something to haul water as the orchard beds and veggie garden is a long ways from the house and a water source. Dragging a water hose that distance then reeling it back in wouldn't be fun either. I've tried that by using three connected together, and still it wasn't long enough. Couldn't leave it out, as I had to pick it up whenever I mowed. It may have been in Gardener's Supply that I saw a rain barrel that actually had two wheels, but not sure how heavy that would be to roll. I've got a two-wheeled hand truck, I suppose I could rig something up this summer.

For those who haven't read all the posts: on one of the threads Patty 'accused' me of scattering Talinum 'Jewels of Opar' seeds when I was watering her yard last summer. We have this running-fun-argument about them because I love them and she definitely doesn't because they come up everywhere in her more fertile soil. I just had 'fameflower' ID'd on the Discussions Forum. It's a talinum, relative of 'Jewels of Opar'. Yeah right Jolana, my gm "Ga-ga" used to tell me that too, but that's never what I got ... :-)

Yes. You drove right past me. We are right on Hamilton Pool road. I work as a Volunteer at West Cave and swim in the river right up stream from there. You see the pool from the lookout that they corral you on at the beginning of the tour. That used to be where I did Yoga twice a week in the morning. It is a beautiful area. Next time you come this way, don't be shy. Yes, the CL is there to stay . I also got a red romaine and some others but that CL was the dominant one by far. Celtic was a close second.

My step Dad in Alabama grew the gourds and I stained and sealed them. I used the seed from them and tried to plant gourds this year in TX. My gourds came out much smaller because I did not prepare the soil properly for gourds. Purple Martin Bird lovers (who build gourd bird houses) claim that you need 1 dead English Sparrow for each gourd mound. (Since they are not Native to America, English Sparrow's kill our cavity nesting birds and eat crops. They are therfore not protected by law and can be killed.) Study England's "Boxing Day" (use to be a big day for Fox Hunting) which is the day after Christmas. You will find that children carolers not only sang from door to door but carried a dead sparrow at the end of a pole. This is a welcome sight to any farmer and sure to produce a contribution to the carolers. Anyhoo my gourd gardening needs improvement.
