Hi need help identifying what's up w/ this lawn in San Francisco. I aerate twice yearly and fertilize non-organically (Vigoro's most basic stuff). Water every other day 13 minutes unless it's hot. Was new from sod 5 years ago and was great up until this season. Still looks decent from afar but up close you can see it actually has many dead blades still rooted in the lawn. Many if not all of these thatch/straw blades are part of living plants (see detail photo). Other parts of the lawn have the same symptom but blades may be showing rust symptoms.
