Cait welcome back. What a GF you have there. The red cups mmmm, the pots were a deal and I love the guy with the teeth. I think I dated him once. LOL You have a nice stash to get your imagination started.

What a great haul! It always amazes me what people will get rid of. On the other hand I am happy to give things to ts if I don't want them knowing that someone else will. We are just entering wintery weather here as you know. Its been warm the past few days, but its bound to get cold eventualy.

REally love that fruit platter I have some smaller bowls with that fruit.I get alot of those clear crystal like dishes in the last pic.they are great for big family dinners.Like the Monkey and wooden zebra too but the blue ruffles on the dinner plates in the last pic,how sweet.i have some decorative ones that are similar.Great stuff.I have grandson today and we didnt go garage saling,now I wish I had.

Living here in North TX on hard clay soil makes large pots like that worth their weight in gold. You are rich!

I've heard that you guys may be in for a pretty fierce winter this year so I'll be mindful of that and post pics of garden happenings regularly. My Our Lady Gardyn has become an overgrown mess and you can't even see the paths anymore there's so much growth. I cut them all back last month but they've grown quicker than I have time to tend them. My GF was over last week and complained that all my wonderful paths were blocked off and I better get out there and do some work. She's right, but I hate cutting off flowering stems. But I want to see the paths again, too. Such a cunundrum!

I'll tell you my secrets LOL. OK, they're not really secrets, just what I've finally learned about where I live. First is an open garden that happens the first weekend in November. These people sell plants and 'junk', too, at extremely low prices so I always do good there. Then there's the church rummage sale. Whatever they don't sell they give away to the charity shops and, because they'd rather have the money themselves, you can bargain sweetly with them. My other coup is having a GF that works in one of the local CS's who saves everything that's chipped or broken for me.

But the #1 'secret' is having faith that our Good Lord is looking after me and, wherever and whenever I go 'junking', what is really meant 'for me' will be there at a really good price. What do they say, "Leave you hands empty so God can fill them"? Something like that.

Anyway, the Salvia Group is meeting today so I'm off to check out what promises to be a beautiful garden.

Hi, Im new, to posting, but I lurked for about a week now. I wasnt going to post, But OMG! you got some great stuff, I went down the list & I was like "oh love that green vase, no wait look at that basket, OHH look at those red & green planters, OMG I WANT THAT MONKEY!"

I love thrift stores, & you've got me wanting to shop so bad. I wish tomorrow wasnt Sunday so I could go shopping, all the good stores are closed on Sundays here. I guess I have to wait till Monday.

Hi Cindy! I just can't wait to finish part one of this reno. I'm struggling to stay inside to finish it! The warm weather is really beckoning.

redpanda - those are terra cotta roof tiles. I got them on ebay - a jillion of them!! Wish I could send some over to you!! HA! Got then for like 3 cents each - too big a bargain for me to pass up. They are perfect at keeping the couch and kikuyu grasses out of the flower beds. Also for making the raised beds. I love terra cotta tiles.

I am still around and checking in from time to time. DD here for a few days before headed to Iraq. Still trying to clean up my DH stuff but between crying or interuptions, little done there. Trying to clean yard with GSs but that had a bad results. We bagged in huge contractor bags all the cans and bottles for recycle. A huge man came into the back yard and took all 3 of the bottles and 1 can and had started on can #2 when I heard him putting in his grocery cart out front (empty a few and tie bag to cart). I rushed out in my gown and yelled at him that he was stealing my cans and that he was trespassing, give me back my cans. Over and over. Not one neighbor came to my rescue...creeps. Finally he tossed one bag of cans back at me and took off. Police could not find him of course. There went bunch of money. So now I have 2 and half bags to take in...I moved them. do not know how he knew they were there. Must have looked over closed gate and reached in and opened it. Anyways, may have to run over him on the streets some day, lol. At least shoot a pic....

Glad to see you back on....we are headed to winter and you to summer. You will have to keep us supplied with color and goodies for a while. June

Aw, (((June))), sorry to hear about the theft. But it will somehow get back to you ten-fold.

As for your daughter, God bless her. Pass your worries over to our Lord and know He's got her in His hands now. He'll look after her.

Today is already sweltering and it's not even 11 in the morning. I was out early watering my pot plants and some of my garden beds. I'll do my best to add cheery summer pics of the garden through your winter.

Can't wait to see what you do with the dishes (I'm assuming you will mosaic with them). And I agree with redpandasmom about your cool terra cotta tile edging. Looks very cool.
