Snapper push mower oil change help please

I have a Snapper push mower model RP2160KWV with a Kawasaki FJ180V engine. I changed my oil last week, and it was more difficult than I bargained for. The oil drain plug is located on the side of the engine. It was hard to access and then loosen the plug, while tipping the mower on it's side, so that the oil would flow into a pan. I ended up spilling half the used oil on my lawn! As far as I can tell, there is not an oil drain plug on the under side of the mower. The side plug is all I could find.

Is there an aftermarket part you can buy to extend the oil drain plug outward (maybe a tube or something) so that all you have to do is tip the mower and all the oil flows into a pan and not on the deck? Am I making this more difficult than it really is?
