Aerating and Dimension and Poa Annua

Hi folks,

Just trying to plan my fall lawncare. I installed a new KBG lawn from seed last fall, and apparently germinated a lot of Poa Annua in the process. I am in coastal Connecticut, zone 6b.

I applied Dimension in April for crabgrass prevention, and hopefully that has also stopped some additional, random Poa Annua germination.

I plan to apply Dimension again in August to hinder the major Poa germination, but I also really, really need to aerate, and I understand that the best time to do that is when the lawn is actively growing in the fall.

So, the problem is that the best time for aerating comes a month or two AFTER the best time to lay down the Dimension, but I think that I need to aerate before applying more Dimension, rather than after, so as not to break up the barrier.

So, my first question is does this sound about right?

Second, how soon after aerating can I apply the Dimension and expect it to work? Can I do it the same day? Does it make a difference if I break up the cores with a rake, which is feasible since it is a small lawn?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul
