the DH and etc... ask me to give it up ! can you believe it

well...Nuts !! give up curb shopping - N E V E R !!!

Well I am already a member of 'MESSIES ANONYMUS' AND NOW

i JUST GUESS i WILL HAVE TO ATTEND MEETING FOR

C U R B SHOPPING ANONYMUS ! Gee whiz I can barely spell those big words!

I say Stand Up and Fight! Gee - some people get in tress and make a stand.... I say Stand on the curb - or in the garden or yard.....

THIS IS AMERICA !!!

THE LAND OF THE F R E E (get it... free ...free stuff)

and the BRAVE

that is us... brave enough to L O O K for it

brave enough to GRAB it... and stuff it in the vehicle and

unload it...

and mostly SEE the BEAUTY in it and save it...

and

Re-purpose it , lovingly , tenderly , (Has Elvis left the building... or not ~?)

I just can't stop !

been there - done that -- well, tried.

No I am who I am

I will stand firm and I will face the music!

even if I am not voted the best wife...

I am gonna keep recycling/re-purposing and

I' m gonna learn to post pictures just to prove I CAN!!!

Can't you just see all of us clubbin' it out over a good piece of lumber, etc. at the retirement home!? LOL

we can trade stuff and just all get dirty and paint and plant and just do it till the sun goes down and for those of us who rarely sleep...

Alrighty Then... and Merry Christmas to whoever might be at work and have nothing of importance to do... talk about PAYDIRT... geez... ya'll have found some really cool stuff. Nothing I like better than to find a discarded window box... mine is not to wonder why..I just snag and go...LOLOL.. I was having coffee with my neighbor 2 days ago and her hubby was hanging a ceiling fan in the bedroom. He comes out and says... 'Do you want these? I hate to toss em out. They are dated back to the very early 1920's'... so I slowly looked up and...'OMG... he had two glass shades that hang from chains that attach to a ceiling fixture. They are etched and frosted and gorgeous... I jumped out of my chair and said 'Thank you very much and you can't have them back'... he laughed... so, this morning they got wrapped as gifts for my S/O and will be happily turned into gorgeous bird feeders come the spring... but that's not the best part of it all.. My boss walks in yesterday morning and in her hand is a picture of a 1920 Jacob Doll Upright piano that she has been trying to sell... I looked once...then looked again because the price had changed to 'FREE TO LOVING HOME'.. LOLOLOLOL... Merry Christmas to Me!!!! It's being moved next week. How 'bout that? Merry Christmas...Jim

Uh, my kitchen. I don't think so :-(. You have no idea what I have there. The cupboards fell off, I wasn't well, and couldn't stand the thought of even dealing with the ins co, screwed myself out of more, let alone having it all torn up. I'm going to have to face it sometime. I have shower stall boards duct taped to the wall so the cold air doesn't get in so bad. I wish I could move to an apartment for a couple months and get it done, but that costs more money, too. I've been down that road and cannot stand to have the house torn up and pounding, people coming and going, actually ended up in the emergency room over it several years back. Now a whole wall needs to be redone because the studs are rotten from a roof leak for years I didn't know I had until water started dripping down the wall, that means the countertop has to come off, the sink, garbage disposal, bottom cupboards, ugh! That's why I'm escaping by making the outside better first. If I had a "normal" kitchen, that would be a really cool idea. My kitchen is cute if it were fixed back up. Thanks for the suggestions on the primers. I took everybody's suggestion and am definitely using it upside down. I simply do not have time to do all that with all the other work. I have the rose planted that may climb on it if it does ok, but I can't risk putting the rose on that hot brass finish. The stakes for the ladder are so thick, got them for 10 cents apiece, treated, painted, and the way the ladder legs splay out, drilling and putting in two screws which I was going to do originally just was too much to make sure the stakes were on straight. They could be crooked, but what I do do, it has to be as right as I can get it. Let's see, I have the baby crib, the trellis I have to pay somebody to do, my iron plant stand is still in the shop to be welded, better check on that, and that rack. If I can take my time, I can do it, but I'm really feeling the pressure. Habitat Restore just called to say they have a bunch of register covers in, my friend wants me to come see her roses, my other friend wants me to run an ad for her, I made a huge cherry pie I didn't want to do but didn't want the cherries to go bad once I had thawed them out. And I wanted to do a lot with my plants today . . .I'm feeling really stressed. I wish I could be like other people and go, go, go, but I pay a price for it and have to slow down. Sorry. I just feel like everything is closing in on me. It will pass. That's how I cope. Pretend it's not there until I find the strength to deal with it.

Jan you have been busy !! I think it will have to be Sunbrella fabric though. Will post the pics of the glider when it is stripped , next week, and then we gotta pick the body color...will have to wait on cushions I bet as money is going to get tight soon...one more trip to NYC at the end of July for me and DH...we gotta get a cheaper hobby :) just: I think it would be beautiful. The dark green we used is from BM and I am very happy with it. It is on the fences in the pergola thread. It is hard to find almost black greens. The spray paint from Rustoleum...Charleston Green is very dark. I love it and used it on all my metal furniture in the Spring. Please post again to show what you do with it. c

Get both options. Go to the appliance forum for great discussions with up to the minute reviews about any price range of dw. They will tell you about sound and reliability. We got our Bosh at a scratch and dent for a great price. If you shop carefully, you will both get what you want.

Once I saw some of those little garden kids... (stuffed dolls etc.) out by someones curb... It scared me so bad...
I was on my way up to the door of the house to tell the owner HEY YOUR KIDS ARE TOOOOOOOOOO close to the curb.

Hi Susie, This cracks me up. This book could be the cure for us! The authors believe that it's ok, and even a good thing to be messy. It's available in all the usual places. It's interesting to Google it and read what the organizing bloggers say about it. As far as I'm concerned, organization is for people who are just too lazy to get up and look for stuff, lol. Linda

Curbshopping is in my blood. Guess I'm a curbaholic. Kin to packrats. Backyard is full of stuff I need or will need. Admire people who are inventive enough to use something that was valuable to someone else at one time.

HI Sunshine! You crack me up! But I agree with you. It's just not in me genetically to spend money on something if I can get it for free! And I have to be doing something creative. I think everybody here understands that! So just take it "One curb at a time" and you'll be ok!

it happened again today...
so I but yet perhaps your message was getting thru to me...
I was going one curb at a time !! tee hee
I got some " Blue and white plates " 2 little shelves
a white French nite stand.... and the list goes on (just like the beat goes on the curb goes on and on and on... that is one curb at a time !"
Just looking for that bowling ball..
My Daughter will be helping me with the pictures this week-end...
