My 'Goodies' from the Gw

this is some stuff I found at the GW today.Loved the amber of the lamp and it will be used in totems.I couldn't{{gwi:191158}} pass up the blue and green goblets.the flowers look like home interior but they will get some paint added to them and the plate I'm not sure about yet....

I was at GW yesterday and got some real deals too. I paid $2 for a gorgeous cut glass light cover. I almost want it in my house and not in the garden. I haven't quite figured that out yet. Went to TS in my hometown today and got a deal on plates. Very pretty and only 10 cents each. I guess I am missing out not looking at the lamps though. This forum has me searching for all sorts of things and I love creating garden art. Have A Great Day!

Old lamps are great for colored glass...I've used several that way! Love all of your finds...woohoo!

LOL, Milosmom, scary is a good description! But guess I saw some potential since I bought the darn thing. I just wasn't sure what till I got it. I left most of the bows on, partly cause I didn't want to mess up the acorns he'd welded on them too. Kathleen, I just got the acorn tree last week. I'd posted a pix in one of Luv's posts the other day. I'll have to wait till next Fall to use it. The gold color was kind of "brassy" looking to me, so I just sprayed a dark bronze on it then added a pale gold over that. I think I'll like it better. I should have waited to take the photo but didn't know I was going to be doing all this. LOL. I don't know if I'll want to use 7 tall candles, that's really not my preference in candles. Wonder if the little glass candle holders would work? Thoughts, anyone? hugs, Karen

C/angel..I know the cartoon character you mean..and I laughed because that was definitely the case here! jeanne..luvs...wish you were there...wish you were there!! Glad you liked it all.. Shee..thanks for the compliment...I've seen your pic..and I feel 'You' are the adorable one!! Punk...glad I didn't let you down. I know what you mean about buying it then think about it later...I try to do that..but this time around...I think I was so overwhelmed...I got 'Stupid' !! :( As far as putting it all away... I really had to work hard at it today...finding places to squeeze things in. I'll have to go back to rearrange and change where they went.. that's the hardest part...and it's getting harder. Gosh, I feel one day when I'm gone, they're gonna say.. This was one 'Sick' lady...with all these dishes!! jane

Thanks everyone - sure glad you enjoyed the ' virtual experience' even tho you were't there IRL to share it. Janet...I've always wanted to go to that 500+ YS. I read about it in a magazine and also on TV.. I always say I'm going to do it...but then when the the time comes around...there's always something else to do. That would be a fun experience for all of us to do together...Pick a state and then all meet there. Magpie...I've never stayed that long at this sale before...to witness the 'Free' experience!! There was so much to see this time, that we stayed longer than usual..and yes the free stuff was amazing. I was laughing over one man giving things away and saying to people - 'You're too slow'...You missed out on what the other person got'...too funny. Luvs..When I was selling things from my home, before I moved, a woman came towards the end of the sale, and asked what we were going to throw away! I couldn't believe she came especially for 'free stuff'! I guess, like your friend, people do that and I guess it pays off. As far as the free things being nice...as we were walking back to the car...people were taking things that were piled by the trash bins..and I saw lots of nice things there too...but just passed them up...too tired! jeanne...you know when I heard the word 'Please'..it actually made me feel better to take it for free. I did feel bad that people had to give it away..because they couldn't sell it.. OA..LOL...'Flea Mkt Heaven'...Love It I'll let you know when the next one is coming!! That would be a fun experience. However, I'd love to go the one Janet mentioned. Have you ever heard of that one? It's the 'Mother Of All TS' !! Candy...ARRRRG... back at ya!! Hope you look good in 'Green'. I went to the flea mkt to day and found some of my "everyday" dishes that I bought at Kmart 25 years ago. Don't you just love 2nd hand shopping? You found some great stuff.

Doodys, that amber glass is beautiful!! Those flowers will look great on a wall or fence! Pretty plate, is it hand painted? Might want to keep it inside if it is! 10cents a plate !!Wow!! More like $1.98 & if marked down 99cents, we never have bargains like rest of country. I think antique store owners get to TS owners & get lot of it. Saves them lot of time & they might pay a little more or take a lot of stuff off their hands. Every time new TS opens there is great stuff & then by time it is there a year less & less. No more old dolls, depression glass, hand painted plates, oil paintings etc. Went to several yard sales last weekend, mostly clothes for kids & baby stuff or adult clothes, no glassware of interest. Did get 5 necklaces with beads at couple of sales so that was nice. Oh, got a book on Cacti & Succulents at the "cemetery sale" think I mentioned it- they are raising money $15,000 to do search with plane that can see bones. They have been told there is 600 people in that little space, don't think it is even 1/2 of a city block. Only 2oo+ have been marked. So they will have sales often. It's just getting time for good sales, well maybe not this weekend, supposed to be over 100 degrees out!! Was 69 today when I went out.Jan

The glass items are really pretty and I can't wait to see what you do with them. But I really like the flowers! They would probably be pretty trim on a bird house. Great buys!
