repair or replace sprinklers?

I have built in sprinkler system. Many of the heads seem to be stuck and don't "pop up." Some are clogged.

A couple of the automatic valves don't turn off when the central timer tells them to - I need to manually turn off the valve.

It seems like a lot of the "value" of the system is the work to put all the pipes in the ground. I should be able to get somebody to replace the bad heads and valves pretty cheaply (I think), but I'm afraid if I call a sprinkler service they will try to sell me a whole new system.

Am I right that it's possible to just fix up my system? What (approximately) should it cost to replace about 8 r 10 heads, and an automatic valve?

Thanks!
