Shutters can be made into a great background fence for plants or large decortive yard items. To set off a small bed of flowers, you can make a "v" or other pleasing shape behind them with the shutters to give the display more importance and focus. If you have a small (fairy or gnome type) garden, they could be used to make a short arbor at the entrance. If you need to direct foot traffic on your property, or screen some unsightly item such as air cond unit or well head... if you have an open porch with a roof, you can run a horizontal row of shutters around the perimitter to reduce the amount of sun shine heating the space up. Oh how I'd love a truckload of shutters! Lucky you!

Karen, you really do need to try yard saling. I find that our thrift stores are much higher than the yard sales too, Luvs. Karen, DH is still trying to find a box at work that might fit what I found for you. I may just send off the other box first & have to wait til I can find the right size box. Betty, it's amazing how some areas of the country just don't get into yard sales like here. I would miss them terribly if we did move to Florida. I think I'd have to travel back here each spring just for the sales!!!

Residents here are only allowed 2 a year with no rain dates. and you have to buy a permit and have it posted. It used to be so much fun to have them and to go to them. I feel sorry for some people who really counted on YS money.

I don't know what they have until I get there. They may have some cracked stuff, but most of it will be good stuff, may have a blemish or something, which may be a problem if fine china, but wouldn't be an issue if you were going to break the stuff anyway. I'm going Saturday morning. They will have crystal, flatware, and collectibles in addition to china and stoneware. They've shown pictures on the local news of them already setting stuff up and it covers several acres.
