Thanks to Souperwoman for the idea! I have made a few of the sculpy clay attached to knitting needles tags. I haven't gotten very inventive with shapes yet, but my daughter is experimenting with colors and designs.....

This one has sparkly nail polish on it, before the sealant.

obviously, I need to work on a pretty lettering, too, I just wanted to get some done, I will have quite a few to do!

paxmom whats the foliage look like? its NOT a BB,,those are tall and rounder,more like the flower on clover at the top of a long stem. Larkspur possibly those have finer feathery foliage but it looks like Delphinium.. to me. Delphiniums have a leafy bottom that is very distinct, Here is a link that might be useful: delp w/ foliage

Yep, that's it! I do have that plant in my collection. I have been a lot more lax about keeping up with the tags since I stopped selling plants, and I have a pesky squirrel (an no less than 4 large snakes) that are currently living in the GH and sometimes they are a little, um, DISRUPTIVE. Oooo. My granddaughters would love making these - especially if they get to use pink and purple clay and write with glittery pens. This is a must for our next project together. Thanks for sharing. Now I just need to watch out for knitting needles at the yard sales.

Great job! I love signs in gardens and yours are very unique. Your needle signs sure knit your garden to heart.

These are excellent plant markers, I love 'em. I don't do the clay sculpy thingy but would add, if you don't mind me saying, maybe some rolled up clay that looks like a rose and leaves, etc.

that's an excellent idea, Sal. On these I have mostly just had to hurry to get some done, and I've done them as quickly as I could, baking them with the needle attached, but that means they had to lay "face" down to come out straight. But, I could make little embelishments and glue them on before sealing it.

Wow, what a great idea! Especially since knitting needles can come in pretty colors too. I have worked with sculpty clay and it is fun. My one worry has been that they don't advise using your cooking oven to bake it. It supposedly puts out some toxic fumes or something. As anyone else heard this? If I had the room, I'd buy an old toaster oven just for doing sculpty things. Great idea and great signs! Thanks very much for sharing!
