My Pink Flamingos aren't pink anymore

One of my flamingos joined the military --- he's holding a flag .... and even his DogTags say "Mingo" ... LOL

One of my flamingos turned into a giraffe !

-- And my deck turned into a "little deck of Horrors" ... pink flamingos hanging on my umbrella for the paint to dry ...

It's a production line ... I have more that are done - just drying in the wings ...

My neighbors think I'm crazy !! ROFL !!

I thought you were crazy when you said you bought all those pink critters!! Well, the 1st 2 are so cute & who would think to turn 1 into a giraffe!! Great job painting! The GI sure looks official to me, he'll do a great job of protecting your home! Can't wait to see what is next once those guys get "cut loose". I can just hear the neighbors,"Mabel, it's getting worse, do you think we should call the cops, I mean, who hangs flamingos until they turn white!" Jan

Perky, my old pink flamingo that I found in the antique mall last year, has some beads around her neck. I'm debating on painting her purple now. Why not, LOL. I painted my "Blue's Brothers" last night. Talk about frustrating! The seller had mentioned that there was some protective coating on them to keep them from ever fading in the sun. Well even tho I used Fusion for plastics, and it covered perfectly. The slightest thing will scratch it off. And of course I bumped them on things a few times trying to repaint the eyes and glue the metal legs on so they'd stay in place. So had to keep doing touch ups. I am going to spray a poly on them and hope that takes care of that problem. If not, then I hope nothing touches them once they are in the yard. LOL. I need to get to Michaels and see if they still have those black hats. If not, I might be buying the little straw hats and these two can be the country bumpkin cousins of the Blues Brothers. LOL. Instead of Jake and Elwood, I'll have LeRoy and Billy Bob. Maybe I'll put my other by them, she can be Sally Ann. Lord I am losing my marbles at an alarming rate these days. fldirt, TAKE PICTURES. Pretty Please. Suzysparkle, oh how I wish you had kept yours or taken pictures. They sound so neat painted all those colors. A herd of Rainbow Flamingos~~how cool is that! luckygal, if I couldn't shop eBay or online, I'd be a mess. LOL. I love that kind of shopping, especially finding neat things. I've shipped to Canada when I sell a friend's artwork for her, and its not been much more than across the US most of the time. Have you ever checked with a seller to ask their price to ship to you? Might be worth it for something you can't find there. I'll take photos of my flamingos soon. Think I might be doing the one in purple tonight after the sun goes down. We're over 110 and I'm not happy. Phoenix is Hell in summer. I can't wait till end of Oct. LOL hugs, Karen

I'm not in the right area, but I'd go to Yahoo's yellow pages site, type in your dad's address as your starting location, and then search for florists. I bet that if the first one you called didn't do it, one of the next few would! (I've used the Yahoo YP to search for local florists when friends far away have been sick, had kids, had babies, etc., and it's worked pretty well to contact the local florists directly.)

Those are great,you have a good imagination and are very talented.

How did you mosiac those bowling pins?? I have a bag full of plastic ones,just need to decide what to do with them.

"Goop" works the best for me . It holds instantly & dries clear. I have alot more "mingos" to show !!!

Those are wonderful... do your neighbors have tours in your yard yet?? It may be coming what fun!! Even more fun is when they start bringing you their trash to go throuh before they toss it. Love your art and I am sure the neighbors do too....

Those are just awesome. The paint job on the giraffe is sooooo good. The GI is really special. Can't wait to see the rest of them be released from their unusual perch and take on a new look.

Haha! I absolutely Love the GI Mingo! My hubby is Air Force, EOD(Explosive Ordinance Disposal) I may just have to try and find a flamingo(might be difficult here in SD) and copy your idea, if you don't mind. *g*

Mingo! That is fabulous! I love the attention to detail...especially the dogtags! They are so much fun. Does your giraffe have a name too?

Thanks for the compliments !! My neighbor loves it - he thinks I made him a shooting gallery with all my hanging mingos ! LOL

The top coat of paint is just plain old Ceramcoat . I made one today -- it didn;t turn out the way I pictured it in my head . It was to be a "Recycla-mingo" - I'll have to re-think that one. I have a Zebra that just needs finishing ... a Red , White & Blue One , and a Green Bay Packers one. I wish I had enough of an imagination to name them .... LOL...

Anyway -- thanks again for making my head swell ( hehe )
