Prowling the Internet in the wee hours looking for more Inspiration photos. Added a few in several categories, but thought I'd put this one here too.

Enjoy....its somewhere on Rte 66.

Now that the LCBO in Ontario are giving refunds for wine, beer and liquor bottles, those are worth some good $$$$.

Suesarge, go to the post I wrote that is" JOY sign" towards the end of the messages garden2garden put the link & just click on that to get to it.It it's their Salvage site then go to right & click on the blog as that is where all the good stuff is. Blue bottle rain chain, blue bottle & cement planter, easy chair(recliner)planted & with a pillow, truck covered with a garden, etc, also pics of shop they had full of antiques. Have fun! Jan

Nice to see you posting Nana. Maybe a couple of us can visit again in the near future. Going to your house was a real treat. Check around your recycling places to see if they'll give or trade straight across for blue bottles. The ones here aren't allowed to take any money, but a soda is a good no money gift. You could also start drinking heavily, lol. Ask local restaurants to save them for you. Bottles seem to look nice whether you use single or multiple colors. Just hang them on anything that will hold them, or line them up in a row, or even not in a row. Nona, Thanks for the great suggestions. I thought about corks, but don't have many. There must be some copper wire, and at least a few thousand bottle caps laying around in this pile of stuff/aka cr@p, lol. I took the grandkids out to Elmer Long's Bottle Tree Ranch in Oro Grande, California yesterday. There's so much to see and he's still building them. The kids were happy to meet him and see all the 'stuff' on the trees. It's a great place to see, like walking through a bottle tree forest. Follow the link below the photo to see more of his place. Seems like everyone is very busy, so autumn swap is cancelled. I will be at Brown childs Park on Farley Street just south of 287 bypass in Waxahachie on the 14th, was some of the things I already have potted up, hope I won't have to care for them all winter long LOL.

Phone is giving me fits, so I'm having to break my messages into small bits. Working in Garden today. Dug up a crepe myrtle that's getting too much shade, pink flowers, I will bring if someone wants it. Also and bringing some irises that were marked in one place as spuria and in another place as Louisiana. Whatever they are, they will grow. Have mother of millions, Cast Iron Plant, false aloe, Lamb's Ear, trumpet vine, Pink four o'clocks, several pots of flame acanthus, comfrey, Jewel of opar that I accidentally broke and stuck into a pot just this minute, little bit of lemon mint, some red Yucca, just tiny babies that I started from seed. If anyone wants, I can bring some pecan and Oak seedlings. They are very heavy and take up room so ask if you want. At least one pot of pigeon Berry. oddly enough, I have some horse herb. I planted something, forget what, and horse herb came up. Have something that I think is white mulberry, and a bunch of seeds, some pots, to seed starting trays with pots, a pair of in-line skates, and ttwo Willow wreath for crafts.

That is one massive bottle collection!

I never thought of it, but perhaps the owner of this glass forest should install security measures to keep his bottles from ending up at the deposit return counter.

And I do imagine that high winds could reduce this collection to broken shards.

But it sure must be neat to walk through this forest in the sunlight.

Arcy, that may be true! I get a LOT of my bottles
from in front of my house where folks through them
out the car windows. Unfortunately, they are mostly
brown bottles, with a few green....I would like to
get a few colored ones-LOL. The blue ones mostly
come from friends.
That's an awesome bottle field!!!!

A little more info on this place....
Elmer Long's 'Bottle Forest' in Bryman, CA. That's just north of Victorville.

Also another bottle tree tip I read was to put the little mini patio/Xmas lights inside each bottle and then light it up at night. Very pretty!

Bottle trees are nice, but not my cup-of-tea. However, this forest is amazing and very attractive.

Oh boy, I was doing some google.com and stumbled onto a U-Tube video all about Elmer and his bottles. Really cool to see and hear how he began. Enjoy!!!

How cool! I like how he has whirligigs attached to his trees. I'm a big sucker for folk art so this is right up my alley. One day, if I ever get my own house and yard, I'll be one of those crazy people!
