What can you tell me about 'English Thornless' raspberries?

Greetings! My husband and I have finally made the move from a shady suburban lot to a sunny, roomy spot in the country. (Yea!!!!) I promised myself that one of the first things I would plant here would be raspberries. I'm pretty sure I want to plant some Heritage canes, and I understand that those act like the ones I grew up with, making lots of suckers which can be mown down. But I wanted an earlier raspberry as well (who can wait all the way until August for raspberries??) and was thinking of the cultivar "English Thornless". I can't really find much info. on this type, though and was hoping that someone could tell me more about them. Something I read led me to think they might be a branching type of raspberry (never dealt with those), are they? Do they need trellising? How many plants to get a nice pint or so in a day? Do they have good flavor? Any other info is appreciated, too!

Cheers!

Sunni
