My New Flower 'Bed'

I just wanted to share some pics of my flower "bed". I picked up the bed from a GS yesterday. Actually, I got LOTS of new goodies while GSing yesterday including the little table, angel, & pot pictured. I'll have to post some of my other lucky finds later! Anyhow, here's the bed:

Marikay, how sweet. I love it. It like it better then the larger beds I've seen. It doesn't take up as much room in the yard. Flowers are beautiful too. I see those small beds at GS's all the time. Now I won't beable to pass them up. Oh so cute!!

That is so beautiful, the pink flowers compliment it so well. I wonder, was that a canopy baby crib? What are those attached things near the tops of the poles?

It looks like an edible vine that's considered culinary in Southeast Asia. I wonder if the birds brought you the gift. I am sorry I don't know the botanical name for it. The soft young tip and leaves are delicious in thin soup. The fruit will grow red when ripe. Birds love them.

Keeping puppies out of flower beds?

Lab puppies? I hate to say it, but I don't think your flower beds stand a chance. I have two Cardigan Welsh Corgis, medium dogs, and they wreak havoc on my flower beds and bushes. Albert has eaten an entire azalea bush and my hydrangea bushes never have a chance to reach their full height. Not only do they make paths through the flower beds, but the flowers are so comfortable, they like to lay on them - all day long. I have most recently purchased the tall, ugly, wire fencing to go around some of my beds. It is about 3' tall. It would cost a fortune to try to go around everything. Oh, and nothing will stop Albert if he is chasing a skink. He is relentless. No amount of yelling (or tacky garden fencing) will distract him. He came close to completely digging up one of my large hostas (in a raised bed, surrounded by 12" tall fencing) last year in his pursuit of a skink. I don't think the pet deterrents are going to help much. They may deter the occasional passerby animal, but not one who stays in the same yard everyday. I have only tried one of the detterents for cats to try to keep them from using my flower beds as litter boxes, and it didn't help at all. (not my cats, btw). Good luck, but I think you should just resign yourself to losing some plants. I would dig up anything that is really going to make you sick to lose. Rae

Yep only she's on my sisters porch haha and you won't get her away from her.
I'll have to keep an eye open for a little bed.

Thanks for the nice comments! I think that it must have been a canopy bed because there are little slots at the top where the frame would've fit on. Anyhow, I'm really pleased with the way it came out!

That is so cute!!!! You could even add a canopy if you wanted later on. What a great garden bed!!!!

GAH!!I could smack myself........I passed up a little white bed like that last week-end. DH said you better grab it,and I said nah,thinking of the granddaughter,not the garden. I have a pretty pink metal canopy bed I bought her,and didn't want to bring home another one. The one I passed on had rockers on it,but would have been the sweetest little flower bed like yours!

Oh, how sweet! I like the smaller size bed because you don't have to go broke filling it in. I will be looking for something like this myself. Thanks for the inspiration!
