How do you apply fertilizer to your lawn?

Do you know any efficient and effective way and application pattern to apply the fertilizer by such as a walk-behind rotary spreader, drop spreader or other tool by minimizing overlap, but quickly spreading to, for example, 0.5 acres or 21780 square footage lawn? How do you do it usually?

For that size, assuming there are no trees, shrubs, decks, beds, patios, walls, fences, or other obstacles, I'd want to use a broadcast (rotary) type spreader. If you have lots of stuff interfering in the garden, then use a drop spreader.

Did you ever decide to water and mow correctly? I still think fertilizer is a much lower priority for you until you can control your weeds with proper cultural practices. Fertilizer should not be applied until Memorial Day so you have plenty of time to see if your new watering and mowing will allow the grass to choke out the weeds.

I have sprayed the weeds killer two times but have not killed them all. I first used Ortho Dial N Spray. It is not good. Then I changed to Weed B Gon Ready Spray. The weeds have changed to yellow. It seems better to use a Ready Spray bottle. I will fill the concentrate to the Ready Spray Bottle to spray. The results probably will be better. By the way what type of rotary spreader do you think the best to avoid spreading on the driveway and most accurate? Can anyone recommend a better walk behind rotary spreader if you think it is the best one to spread? Is it Scotts?

I apply Mills MM after the spring flush, wait about a month/6wks, then apply Rosetone once or twice before a late season second dose of Mills MM. Between applications of the dry stuff, I usually drench a time or 2 with Neptune's kelp/fish emulsion mix and/or alfalfa tea. That's it until very early spring when I give an initial shot of 20-20-20. Nothing scientific here, merely a shot in the dark that's worked for me.

I don't know what you do about the lawn, but I know what to do about itching. Apply the very hottest water you can stand, for as long as you can stand it. This releases the histamines and relief lasts for about 6 hours, maybe 8. Works like a charm. Alternatively, you could set your iron at a low temp and iron yourself. I once had a device for that very purpose. It was like a small, round iron. It died and I was very sad.

I use a pre-emergent without nitrogen and look for what's available at my local stores. Southern States had a granular product with Dimension (0-0-7) and I got that. I used something similar last year, but I may have gotten it from Home Depot then. If you plan to overseed in the fall, be sure to read instructions on how soon after using the pre-emergent you can reseed. That may affect which one you choose.

When I remove grass, I don't do so in order to replace it with a different cultivar of grass, I put in another flower/veggie bed/conifer bed instead. My goal is to pretty much get rid of all lawn grass - and all annual grasses (ha, wish me luck with that!) - so that the only grasses in my garden are the lovely ornamental grasses. I've been working towards this goal for about 20 years now. So, I obviously don't know anything about sheep fescue but from what I just read it seems as if it would be a good alternative to Kentucky Bluegrass, etc. in terms of drought tolerance and hardiness. Not sure what you use this area of your yard for, but one thing to take note of is that the leaves are supposed to be rather tough and sharp, so, at least from that description, probably not the turf grass on which you would want to go barefooting! Also, it apparently isn't good for high traffic areas as it doesn't tolerate a lot of foot traffic - recommended for a naturalized area with wildflowers and such scattered through it.
