Thornless Blackberry Bush - red berries won't ripen...WHY? =(

Hi have this Thornless Blackberry bush that grows really well. 3 months ago, it had many fruit growing, probably around 200 or so. Throughout June, a few would ripen to black every day for a couple of weeks. Now, it's August, and there's probably 70-80 unripe berries still (the same ones that have been there since May/June) and they don't seem to get black. On SOME, parts of the berry will get black and then the rest is red and starts to shrivel up. I squeezed some of the red/unripe berries and they are HARD like a rock. Will these ever ripen, how come they never turned black? Should I assume the season is over and just cut these away since fruit will never grow on these canes again?

Please shed some light for me. This is the first time I've had a blackberry bush. Thank you.
