Nautical Ball (bb) for pool garden

Hey, you GJer's get me in more messes! This is my first (and probably last) BB project ... NO, you'll NOT see beautiful mosaics, pennies, collage, or critter BB's! I don't know how you talented people do it! (notice, I used the word, "probably!")

It took 2 pair of hands (the ball kept rolling).. and the silicone II... my DH (who I know is thinking, what will the GJ site do to her next???) ... anyway, remember the waterwheel...well, this is to add to that vignette. Just plain ol' "haymow rope"... looks a bit like a"acorn" cause I had to use some new rope also...but it will "weather" quickly!

Also got a $2 GS bargain "mermaid" made of terra cotte that I spray-painted copper ...will incorporate her somehow. And I'm afraid I added another "glass piece" (75 cents) to my garden shed for future ideas forming in my head for totems (eh gads!)

What a cool idea! Looks great. My little kittles would love to get their claws in that rope tho so I probably won't be doing it here. Can't wait to see the whole vignette!

Very unique! I've never seen a bb done with rope before! I'm looking forward to our great state drying out so that we can see your entire vignette!

Welcome Beecharmer2! This is such a fun forum with the nicest of people! If you look on the GardenJunk homepage, you'll see "FAQ" at the top of the page. It tells how to make some of the cool projects you see on the forum. There's one for marbles on bowling balls...same idea as pennies. I'll post the link below. I haven't grouted mine but I bet someone else will speak to that. This was my first bowling ball. So easy and FUN! When you do a bowling ball, have a container you can sit it in. I used an old heavy pan. The GEII is a silicone sealant. I found mine in the glue department at Lowe's. Have fun! Post a picture if you create a Bowling Ball masterpiece!!! I loved your rope ball and I love the rope planter too! I love natural, rustic looking things so even though I don't have a nautical theme, I'd still love something like that for my balcony. Now I'll have to go shopping for rope!

It took us about 10 years of searching to find a place that we could afford and didn't need so much work that it wasn't worth it. Flip flops! heck, yeah, I'm ready to board that bus!! I love your ideas, it turned out perfect! I especially love your waterwheel, I have been wanting one for about 5 years now. I priced some on the internet, wayyyy to much!! There is a place in Branson, MS called Siver Dollar City, kinda an amusement park with lots of shops and food. Anyway, the front entrance has this gi-normous waterwheel and all of the plants and flowers are LUSH! We have been several times, but the last time, I decided I had to have one! I love that waterwheel! I haven't seen it yet. I am sorry that I need to ask when others probably know, but did you make that??? IT is beautiful.

Love the bowling ball rolled up with rope! What a cool idea! And I always admired that waterwheel. Love the sun face on your shed. Please post a pic of the mermaid when she is finished!

The BB looks great with the rope around it!! I might steal that idea(-: I have several BB's I need to do something with. I also like the bobber one. So many ideas on here. I love this place(-:
