My finds for today-this great birdfeeder

Here's what I got today,this birdfeeder someone made from a plate,a mason jar,and a chicken feeder, I paid $2 for it.Got the Tom Howard day lilies for $3 each,and an airplane plant,and the sedum for $1.Got the great hat at the same yard sale for a quarter.Then I got this silver plate tea service for $5,to mosaic,the pink dishes for a quarter each,the sweet little wheelbarrow for $3,the old beer bottles were $1 each,kerosene can $3,and the aluminum tea kettle $3. I hope to make a birdhouse from it,after I check out who made it, I don't wanna cut up something valuable. I also got a small kraut cutter for $3, I've never seen one so small before,but no pic of it. And something my grandchildren will love, a pogo stick for a dollar :) Oh yes,I got 6 galvanized buckets for a quarter each,to make spindle planters from. My DH found a small cast iron stove,toy size,for a quarter.

IE won't let me see your blog either, tasymo. I'm not pc smart enough to know why. The page starts to load then an IE message box comes up and says it can't do it, operation aborted. If I click on the box it closes the whole page, if I don't it stops loading and I can't scroll the page or click on anything on it. Just wanted to let you know. Donna

Marcia, thank you so much for the warm welcome! And I'm certain I'll be contributing to posts here and there. You mentioned in another post about the tufted titmice... they are absolutely my favorite bird! So sociable and seemingly fearless of humans! Lately, there's been one that keeps landing on my head! Almost every afternoon for the last 3 weeks! I wear my hair short, blonde and spiked, and I keep wondering if it's checking it out as a nest, but titmice are cavity nesters, so maybe it just wants my hair for the nest? Or maybe it's just immensely curious. At any rate, sometimes it will stay on my head for 5 minutes, walking all around and even climbing down and nibbling on my ear. Of course, I feel highly honored! I always pay close attention to your posts because you and I are in the same zone. After too many years away from gardening, I recently got reinspired and am absolutely thrilled with all the online assistance via forums like this. I look forward to continuing the learning experience and the fun shared on this forum! Thanks again, Marcia!

That's GREAT news Andrew...you're talking to someone that HATES shipping with a passion. Don't get me wrong I've ordered many things and have had to pay shipping(many times that's the only way to get things you want) but I'm with you...if its doable w/out shipping that's just more $$ to spend on a few more plants,lol...You're very lucky to find this nursery. They could have just as easily tacked on an extra $10 or so just to cover their shipping charges.

WOW!! ME too I wana go!! I found a few things.. but can't find the camera!! I don't know which of your treasures I like the best... though I am partial to pink glass... and old teapots.

Beautiful finds - I can't believe you only paid $1 each for the old beer bottles. Those are antiques and go for about $20 around here - jealous, jealous, jealous of all that great stuff.

Great finds, and thanks for iding my daylilies. They were packaged from WM I think and did not look like the pic, have always wondered what they were and now I know.

Thanks everybody, I usually don't have this kind of luck! This might be it for the whole summer,lol. I forgot to mention the shasta daisies and the forget me not I bought,too. Now I need to go buy some annuals for some of these projects,not today,though,too depressed. This forum cheers me up a lot.

I just got a tea kettle like that from hubby's granny. I'm just gonna dispaly it on top of my kitchen cabinets, goes with my old & retro stuff. ...you did GOOD! Love that tiny wheelborrow!
