Childs chair turned planter redo 2007

Well this little chair has been a planter since about 2001... Wow!! First it was pink... then blue... last year it stayed in the basement... this year it's a pretty green with some mosaic!!! It's actually one of the first junk projects I did. The chair came from the daycare at our old church that closed down. I removed some of the slats in the seat. Took some wire mesh that I found in the woods.. cut two strips and made the basket part. I haven't decided what to plant yet. But I wanted to post a picture anyway... what ya think???

Didn't realize I still have pictures of the old versions in my Yahoo albums... don't go there much since I use photobucket.

Wow! That chair has had lots of makeovers. Lol. I love how it is now. I also looked at your yahoo album. You have cool stuff. The coke planter is something I would love since I collect anything coca cola. Your purple stepladder and blue and white teacup feeder are adorable. Good job!! Thanks for sharing!!

Hi Kids, Happy New Year to you all. I saw my first Hawk in the yard today. I think it was a Northern Goshawk. I got a few pictures of it which I will post as soon as I am able. It was beautiful. It sounds like we are all enjoying the birds. The worms I always kept on hand for the Blues were live mealworms. I know you can get the freeze dried, but I have always used the live ones. They are not gross at all. They are small, only about an inch, dry and easy to handle...no slime. I order them on line and they arrive in a bag, inside a box. I take them out, put them in a shallow plastic container that has a lid and, put them in the lower part of the refrig. They last for a long time. I would even feed them apples so they stayed plump and happy. I think I got 5,000 for about $15. The Blues LOVED them. I was lucky enough to have a Flicker visit during my PFW count this past week. I was so excited. We seem to have a mini flock of 3 that now visit the suet feeder just about every day. They are so beautiful. I'll try to post the pictures of the Hawk. I would like to know if you all agree wtih my ID of it as a Goshawk. sooey

Seems like that diversion lost your support here, I like the wall color you have chosen (would have been my choice of those too). I was wondering what I would do for a ceiling color and think your idea is fun and sounds like a good choice. I've seen pink and peach in photos here, but I live in a house full of guys and probably wouldn't think of it myself. Just went and looked at the bin. Decide how and where you would use it (laundry, toys, etc.). Depending on those answers, you might consider getting more than one. If you get only one, you have to decide pale pink or brighter pink. Have fun.

I know the duvet. The pattern was in fact called "Strawberry Patch" and I had it in my last bedroom in my parent's house - my mom made matching curtains from sheets and my grandmother made a beaded floral arrangement that was strawberry plants in a terracotta planter that hung in the corner. It may have been by Wamsutta? We're pushing the trivia now. LOL Unless you are looking for a very unfitted Bohemiam look, I would say these are not working together and I'm not sure I can see them with the wall color you have described. I can see the first two being part of a Bohemian mix, but not really the Strawberry Patch and the green sheet. I think those work together in a brighter mix There is a gold in the Strawberry Patch, but I don't think it is enough to pull together the bright, clear colors in that and the sheet on the one hand and the heavier colors of the drapes and quilt. Bohemian isn't really my thing, so take that or leave it and if that is the look you want, find someone else who can better help you, but I would say you might be in a pick two situation and then look at using the others in another room or rooms. MAYBE three if you did the duvet, used the sheet to make a trim some white curtains or a pull-down or roman shade (even just piping, a band or tiebacks) and/or make shams or a toss pillow and then used the quilt folded at the end of the bed or on a stand across the room -- I'd have to see it IRL and see the room. I just can't see the damask curtains working with the others. It's a very heavy look while the Strawberry Patch is very light and clean, clear colors.

Handy Guy is one of my favorite humans. He was unavailable for a little over a year in 2015 when he became an estate manager for some very fancy people with multiple homes in far flung regions. Gave it up after trying to keep up with home life and his poor dogs, as his required traveling time had more than doubled over the year. So excited to have him available again, literally could not have made this move without him. During the lockdown he was here daily for move in issues, wallpaper, pantry reconfiguration, new sinks everywhere, etc. etc. etc. When DH was hospitalized and I did not leave the hospital for months at a time Handy Guy was at our house once a week checking on all systems and keeping things up. DS2 was there but in school and just taking care of the dogs. We never needed our village more. Babyproofing now! Great idea Renovator Girl! I’ve been thinking solely of cribs and rockers for their room here and baby clothes. (WHY are baby sweaters so cute? Anybody?) We are still renovating downstairs bathroom and some choices … with baby in mind. I hear you about Forest Lawn, Mtn. From the looks of the size of your former house on another thread you have more extra furniture than anybody. Just keep in mind that you may have to pay your kids to take it, lol, or just show up with a moving truckful as they are settling into a new place and need it :-) The desk and blackboard are essentially the same width. I will be hanging the blackboard just a few inches above the hutch part so it will look like a single column of color on that wall. My goal with this room is to make DS and GF want to come and visit “their” bedroom, Nuts. I hope it works! Outside, has your desk been delivered? If so, is it as pictured? I appreciate the “tastefully masculine“ Jojoco. Some might disagree about the yellow and cream, but then again the GF needs to be taken into account and DS also still had his childhood teddy bear on the old bed after the move. Bunny, Let’s just saya future graveyard bedroom has not been ruled out. 😎

I love that chair. I have one just like it except mine has rockers. The GK'S aren't ready to let it go yet tho LOL

I love the bright green color of the chair, it will "pop" in your garden. I also checked out your photo album. That old bench and chair are lovely. Home Goods has a old rusty looking bike with the ornate design on it in the wheel spokes and the planters in the front, back and pedal areas. It was selling for $100. I wonder if they don't get their ideas from folks like us on the Garden Junk forum (ya think?)!

I love the little chair, and I have one,too,that used to be a rocker. It was mine when I was a little girl,and I'm 48 now :) My mother re-caned the seat years ago when the slats broke out. I keep mine inside for kids to sit in. I love the mosaic on it,and the color green,can't wait to see what you plant in it.

Sister: Good name as we seem to be of the two "pees" in a pod variety!!ha! Love the chair, and mosaic you did,Bright, love green too! AND you have the same rooster as me! the glass amber one And you have it outside too!!! More "pee" in a pod goin' on!!

You all are too funny. Thanks for all the comments. The color is awsome it's the new spray paint at Wally world put out by Kilz. I first started with bright yellow... HATED it. This is much prettier. The yahoo pics are all from 2003...and I still have all the junk. Just at a new house. The rooster has been outside the hole time.
