Strawberry selection help (from Nourse farms' list)

I'm redoing my strawberries next year - my last Gurney's order didn't take.

I was favorably imnpressed with how Nourse Farms shipped my blackberry, raspberry and blueberry plants - they were in great shape and came with a water holding compound to help keep them moist after planting. It was a nice touch.

So, they win my business for strawberries in the fall.

I will get a total of 4 varieties. I'm considering the following and would love some input:

Brunswick - an early season

Cavendish - also an early season

Cabot (I've grown Jewel in the past; it would be a second choice here, but Cabot has bigger berries) - this is a midseason

Record - late season

I'd like a late-mid season to keep constant berries going; this would mean trashing either Brunswick or Cavendish.

I'm in Mercer County, NJ which is Zone 6. 2 of the berries will be in the ground and 2 will be growing in an 8" PVC tower with 1-1-1 mix and daily liquid fertilizer.

This is for a home garden with little kids who LOVE strawberries.

Flavor, size and production are all important. We wouldn't accept tiny berries with great taste nor huge, tasteless berries, however, so that isn't a finite ranking.

Love to hear from all the other strawberry growers out there.

Andrew
