You might surf thru the Greenhouses forum. These HF greenhouses are often discussed over there. The price point is very attractive. The manufacturer's instructions, I've heard, leave alot to be desired. You may find some good advice over there.

Thanks, tcstoehr. I've done a lot of reading over there, as I was thinking about buying one new. The nice thing is that this one is all assembled. I just need to pop the panels out to transport it, since it's small enough to load it on a flatbed trailer fully assembled. I will probably read some more about what people are doing to seal them, though, since I've heard that they can be rather leaky, which I can see, since the panels are just clipped in place.

You lucky, lucky!!! wow, I love second hand stuff and if I could score a bargain like that I would get a greenhouse, I am loathed to as from the UK and you never know in this job market when Hubby could be given the old heave ho and we go back to Blightly, but at that price I would risk it. enjoy, I am glad when things go to people who really appreciate what they have got, but that said most "second hand Roses" do appreciate what we get, cos we look long and hard for them.

That, for sure, is a great find.
Last year I made a 24" x 48" cold frame. It cost me close to $100, plus hours of labor. So $250. for a walk-in greenhouse is more than a bargain.
Enjoy it. I think you can get even that $250 back in one season by growing things from seeds.

I really enjoyed my 6x8 when it wasn't blowing away! LOL
We put ours in a very windy area of the yard and had to rebuild it almost every year, so think about where you are going to place it. You might want to wrap it with wire or chicken wire or something if it's going to be in a windy area.
You might also do a search for the little clippies, cause they tend to fall out and disappear and HF does NOT carry them and ordering them from HF is a joke (or any other part that might be missing!)I gave all my clips and spare panels to my neighbor for spare parts. He uses them!
I never got any leaking in my GH except when the air vent in the ceiling stopped working or the door stopped closing.

I was quite toasty sitting out there in the middle of winter reading my books among the geraniums flowering in January!
We are glassing in a portion of our deck for a more permanent GH/sunroom.

Thanks for the tips! Our back yard has 6' wood fence all around, and it will be backed up to one of those, so I don't think wind will be too much of an issue. I could see it if the GH was out in the middle of a field, it can really howl here out in the country, but it's not too bad in town. I am excited to see how much earlier I can get tomatoes with this next year!

A good find indeed. I've used one of those greenhouses for several years now, it was a very economical starter greenhouse. Yes, the instructions were rather trying... it took me awhile to figure out some of the things they forgot to mention (like missing steps). Fortunately, Lantanascape, you won't have to deal with those issues.

I ordered an extra set of clips the year after I bought it, since I lost a few during the winter. Since they are only spring loaded, strong winds can blow out the panels - and those clips can really go flying! Better to remove the panels (and clips) when the greenhouse is not in use. Never had trouble with leakage, though... I've watched a few thunderstorms from there.
