Can rhubarb seedlings planted in October make it?

Crazy, yes, I know. I bought 8 Victoria seedlings today.
I planted four of them and put a "wall of water" around each. i am in north central Ohio, zone 5. Is it possible they can get enough of a start to survive the winter? How many weeks would I need to leave the protection around them? Can I then just remove the wall of water so they will go dormant, or wait until there is some unseasonably warm weather? I would love to see these seedlings make it. I have four more I will try to keep alive in the house until spring. I am excited to try the Victoria strain and hope it's as good as the nameless heirloom variety I already have. MY established clump came from a woman who said it's been passed down from her family farm in West Virginia for over 100 years. It's great rhubarb. Thanks! Linda
