June Bugs/Japanese Beetles on Cherry Trees

User

I've been dealing with Japanese Beetles for the last month on my newly planted (April 2008) Bing and Black Tartarian cherry trees (as well as my roses). I kill the Jap. Beetles I find and have also put up a Jap. Beetle trap. I don't think the trap has attracted more beetles to the yard because of where I have it placed. In the last week there have been much fewer Jap. Beetles on the cherry trees, but 2 nights ago I found another feeder on the cherry tree leaves at night-June Bugs (I believe). Is there an effective repellant (citronella?) or insecticide safe for the trees that will handle these bugs? It is more difficult to physically remove the June Bugs and there are many more of them than the Jap. Beetles it seems.

Thanks for any help. I'm afraid at least 1 of the 3 trees may not make it to next year because of the amount of defoliation it has endured. I do not really have experience with planting & nursing young trees.
