You have a sour cherry tree. They do not require a pollinator to produce fruit. Majority of sweet cherry need 2 or more trees to produce. Plus I hear that there are also a ton of other things that can go wrong as well.

Cherries come in pollination groups so any cherry outside the Bing group will work. See chart below for some more cherries that will pollinate a Bing. Note that Bing is not a very good cherry for Illinois since it often cracks, so I would focus on getting one that cracks less for your second cherry. I have read that in this instance that people can do two grafts. The native variety being the most hardy and strongest rooting, then a short intermediary piece which can bridge between the native and fruiting varieties. Can anyone assist? Or know someone who can? I have cut down a large native cherry and would like to graft lapins and stella to the sprouts which are sure to come up this spring. I have a VERY healthy (though it hasn't borne fruit yet)Royalton black sweet cherry from Stark Bros. in my SW MO orchard. It is 5 years old now, with no problems whatsoever. That same year I planted a Stella, and it died the following spring from some kind of weeping rot at the graft. I need to get another pollinator now. I was warned not to plant sweet cherries here by all the Extension literature, neighbors, etc. because we have so much black knot here on the billions of wild cherry trees everywhere you look. However, I recall three beautiful black cherry trees in town when I was a kid (1970s) that gave excellent cherries and never had any problems until someone cut them down. Look around your town. I bet you might see some old ones. I did that before I bought mine. They're around. BTW - my orchard is in a clearing in the woods, just full of wild cherries everywhere. We'll see what happens, but I'm for giving it a try. Some say not to plant sour cherries for some of the same reasons, but we've grown them for years with no problems. Good luck!
