I see a garden feature, but with the table turned upside down, and hanging plants on the 4 legs. The tabletop would be a beautiful base on a patio.

I love it. I would leave it as a table, maybe a frosted glass top? Although if you are going to disassemble, the top looks alot like a sundial to me, and might be really cool hanging on a fence.

I love the table! It would look great as a table with a glass top. I wouldn't get a frosted top though because then you wouldn't be able to see the pretty scroll work.

It is too bad you couldn't get a clear glass bowl to fit in it and create a birdbath out of it.

look, it is a clock. Take it apart and put on a clock kit. It already has 12 3 6 and 9....yep, a clock. Then put a pot or a planted basket on top of the leg....Dual purpose....

The top is a lot more attractive than the post and base, I wonder if they are added on and that it was made into a table recently. Just painting it a solid color and getting a new glass top (not that much $) and it would be really nice. If you don't want that, I would do the chicken wire & moss planting table, but let the whole trim of the table show as it is so attractive. If you paint first it won't rust out and you can still have the table or clock option for later. Anything will be an improvement over that green post. A very good find! Please post after photos.

WOW, that sure is one awesome table!! What a great find. I love your idea of a giant planter using the chicken wire and liner and potting soil. You could purchae a large, shallow plastic bowl (think pasta bowl) and place it in the middle as a bird bath and then do the planting around it. If not that, how about a light weight garden statue in the middle of the plantings? Attach either the bowl or statue using GE Silicone II for windows and doors (outdoor use) so it'll hold up in the elements.

Can hardly wait to see what you do with it.

That is a great find! For a quicky, till you find out what you want to do, you could get a round stepping stone and place inside and put a plant on it for now. If you want to go for the wire, use hardware cloth not chicken wire. It has a tighter weave and will hold up longer then chicken wire. I am sooo jealous. ;o)

I vote for the large shallow planter idea. I can see it full of sedums with some spilling over the edge here and there.

I love the table. It looks like it would make a very cool sundial. And I would leave it standing in the garden rather than try to mount it on a fence.

As planter, I see rabbit foot ferns
(and other ferns) in it.

Amy, it is simply gorgeous! I would use it in the garden and let vines and tall flowers grow up and around it. Because the iron? architecture climbs upwards, it would be odd to put a glass in it and make it a table because the upward iron piece would not allow the arms to rest comfortably...unless, in its prior life the table center was large enough that it was entirely over the top part, leaving the pretty iron work underneath, but anyway, I would leave it as is. You might check out the cottage garden forum and ask them how they would use it.

I see a wonderful herb garden for the kitchen. Using hardware cloth and some liner, should be able to plant lots of kitchen produce, even some hanging tomatoes. What do you think?
