graft sucker and pear on apple

grafted apples around the end of april. 17 of 18 benchgrafts have taken and are pushing wood except 1 , an akero. last week i scratched the rootstock and scion and both were a healthy looking green. today i noticed a 4 or 5 inch sucker, my inclination is to cut it, but don't want to loose the rootstock if my benchgraft is failing. should i leave it for a future graft if the main dies ?

my akero graft on an old tree has just leafed out.

the 24 pear grafts i did at the end of may have taken and are pushing wood. had a couple of extra scions i stuck on an apple tree, they leafed out. will they stay alive long enough to cut them this winter and graft them to pear rootstock next spring ? just curious , time will tell.

thanks,
