I finally got my Secret Santa mailed today....

Sorry it is running late...I sent it priority, hoping it will get there in time.

We've had some things going on...My husbands best friend for many many years lost his wife yesterday...It's been a "watch" for the last several days...She had a lung transplant a few years ago and her body fought over and over trying to reject it...each time she would get a little thinner and frailer. She just wore out and the doctor said they just didn't have anything else to offer her.

I feel like my gift is a lame one...but I hope my secret santa recipient can do something with it.

They said it would get there !
But guess this old stormy, snowy.... icey weather is taking it's toll on lots of stuff...
my problem... was I am LATE !!! busy trying to think of the perfect thing.... changing my mind.... trying to find the "PERFECT GIFT" when the Gal that I am mailing mine to ...
is the sweetest thing... she would probably be able to turn >>A N Y THing into a "PERFECT GIFT!!!".....
so.... we shall see.....
I know everyone is really busy....
It is getting closer....
and after all.... you know... they say...
"it's the thought that counts!"

Pattico, sorry about the loss of your friend's wife. Sounds like it has been quite a battle. Don't worry about your SS package. Since you sent it Priority, it will definitely get there in time. I'm starting to wonder about the package I sent out 9 days ago. I guess this time of year it does take longer! I'm still waiting for mine. Every time I see the mailman, I think "Could this be the day?". I'm like a kid! I can't wait!!

HAH you sound like me, Kathy, I love handmade items so much, but always seem to buy most of my favorite junk instead. Going to junk stores or yard sales is something I do mostly just to get out of the house, it's fun to just mosey around with the intention of just having a nice time. I have my favorite neighborhoods, resale shops, etc, and when the mood strikes I venture out. I have been looking for SS items too, look forward to knowing whose name I got so I can try to figure out the best junk for their tastes. So this weekend we'll all have the name of our SS person! As I told Kirk, this is my first SS ever, at my age there's not too many first time anythings for me anymore! LOL So I'm excited! ~tenderlee

I don't know what color the bulbs are but I love just seeing things pop up so I don't mind not knowing at all. I had some lillies as a child that popped up every year and I was always so excited to see them appear, lol. John is better today and I am a little better. Got the plants all in pots for now since its supposed to get to freezing tomorrow night. I think I just did too much and the stress all caught up with me and left me open to getting sick. I just have a headache and mild nausea now. The sore throat and losing my voice is better. I bet I feel like eating my candy bar by tomorrow, lol. I can't wait to post a pic of my candles. I really love them. Its the sort of thing I would have bought myself if I had seen it, lol. Thanks again. John and I are fine now. I am letting him do whatever he wants to the greenhouse and am just not going to look at it again until its finished, lol. I don't care if its not until next year now. I like being able to look at the plants in the garage anyway. I might just let him have the greenhouse for his stuff and keep the garage, lol. Going to bed. Nite all.

Well I've just mailed out a couple of more things too. Of course my secret santa gift went out a few days ago. Hopefully my person can use what I sent. (frown) I wasn't as thoughtful as some of you other folks. Most of the stuff I packed into my gift was WORK......LOL Isn't this fun????? Each person on this forum is so special. Oh, by the way, Santa gave me a call and told me that he had a few things up his sleeve for a couple of other people here. (HUM....I wasn't sure of what he was talking about so I guess we will just have to wait and see if anyone writes anything about it.) Did I mention when I got home this morning I had a wonderful box full of brug cuttings from Chena. I had no ideal she was sending them. Thanks so much for sharing your cuttings with me. I'm used to getting cards and letters late, but this year my sisters and relatives in Croatia and Bosnia will be using Skype, free cam and especially voice chats, not perfect, but what is? Especially one for free. Gotten more annuals cleaned, mostly sweet autumn clematis, MG's, cannas, gingers and NBJasmine, it's been in 70-ies, just right to keep windows open!! Weather see-saws all over the world! Hope Santa doesn't get snowed in, ha. Making Shrimp and leftover Turkey Gumbo!! No okra or smoked ham, so it's not the traditional recipe, might serve it with brown rice or mashed potatoes. I'll share the recipe-s eventually, like it or not, lol GB-Bea
