Secret Santa got me in trouble...

Well there I was at the starvation army looking at glass etc. And I thought: what if I get someone who likes to make ____ (insert any number of things). This would be perfect! I should get it! I'll regret it if I dont'. So I bought things today that I wouldn't have other wise. Course I still only spent $8 and that included some things that I would have bought anyway. But there goes my carefully cultivated discipline! Plus I'm going to have to start making more things lol.

HAH you sound like me, Kathy, I love handmade items so much, but always seem to buy most of my favorite junk instead. Going to junk stores or yard sales is something I do mostly just to get out of the house, it's fun to just mosey around with the intention of just having a nice time. I have my favorite neighborhoods, resale shops, etc, and when the mood strikes I venture out.

I have been looking for SS items too, look forward to knowing whose name I got so I can try to figure out the best junk for their tastes. So this weekend we'll all have the name of our SS person!

As I told Kirk, this is my first SS ever, at my age there's not too many first time anythings for me anymore! LOL So I'm excited! ~tenderlee

I'm with you! I keep finding GREAT treasures and then love them so much that I keep them! Carol's going to draw a name for me. Maybe she should just give me my own name! LOL Bear Hugs! Kirk

Thanks Kirk for adding a link I had no luck with it.Oh no I have to wait till Christmas Eve when my kids and grandskids are here to see me open it.They are excited about it as much as I am.When the mail man brought it up to the door.I put it on my love seat and I thought why not take a picture of it and share.It's waiting for the tree to go up.On Christmas Eve I have an open house and right before friends and neighboors come in Santa comes and sees my grandkids,and he'll be here for me to open it. I am so glad that it got there okay and that you like it. The tibouchina grandiflora (Princess Flower) will have large round leaves (up to 9 inches) that are have silvery fur on both sides. It has the same purple flowers as the regular Princess Flower and same growing requirements. Yours will look like the one in this photo. They are frost tender. http://centralfloridagarden.com/favorites/tibouchina.html The Strictocardia (Hawiian Bell Vine) is a vigorous grower and makes pretty hot pink flowers with a yellow center, my mother plant has buds on it right now, so it likes to bloom the most in the fall but sometimes will bloom sporadically the rest of the year. They will need protection if it freezes. I would prob. wait till spring to plant in them in the ground. They will both need afternoon shade in TX. The raccon village figurine is from my dd. She saw them and wanted to get it for you and bought it with her own $ lol! She thought they were so cute. Then I had to also get her a redneck xmas cd because she wanted one too when she saw yours LOL! I plant those pink and white sweet potato vines under the brugs for ground cover. They look especially good with pink and white brugs and will climb up the trunks with a little coaxing. Maybe since I've gotten back on track, I should do a "Secret Santa" RR. I mean unless Tabatha would like to do one! Let me know what you think Tabatha, and we'll go from there. We could include gifts such as Christmas ornaments New Rolls of Christmas ribbon for crafts Baked goods Amaryllis bulbs Paperwhite bulbs Hyacinth bulbs for indoor forcing general gifts such as hand lotions gardening magazines dish towels/pot holders candles potpouri fresh seeds for winter sowing journals etc. I think this would be really fun! Guilty here too...LOL. I can't stop buying cut glass or other interesting objects. I've decided that I am going to have a sale in the spring at my house. Our yard sales do so well that I am hoping I can sell some of my junk to. I always get such nice comments from people, so I think it will be a big hit and a way to indulge my Junking habit and make a little money to support it.

Thats what happens whenever I go to SA. I always see a ton of stuff and I end up bringing it all home with me. I have a lot of projects sitting in the garage waiting for me to do something with them.
