Ya know, I should probably mention that I AM a twin :D Except Twin and I look nothing alike; we don't even look related!! So, you can imagine what happens when people tell me "oh, I saw your TWIN!"...I say "oh,really? she didn't tell me she was coming!!!" LOLLLLLLLLLL
My theory is Gypsies dropped me off on the door step, I can't possibly be related to THESE people :D

My big sister's were 'identical' twins and could get away with tricking people all the way through High School. Now at age 55, they dont look like they could be neighbors much less twins. But they are still somehow connected. One had plastic surgery on a broken nose in Indiana. They other had unexplained nose pain the entire day in Michigan?????

So funnnny!.......I still left out another part of this story that makes it even crazier! I have two younger sisters who are about 2 years apart. Both have long red hair. So....everyone knows that this family has twins "oh, you're talking about "the TWINS"!"...well, they think my 2 youngest sis' are the TWINS...not me and my actual twin..the REAL twins, LOL!!!! As a matter of fact, just recently a local pastor came up to be introduced to me, and he said "oh, I know these girls. Ya'll are the ones with the twin sisters", and I had to explain again that me and the blonde were the twins, and the 2 redheads who look just alike have in fact a 2 years age difference! When people find out who my father or mother were, they ask "which one are you?" and I have to say "one of the twins"...and then it's the whole "no, the little redheads are the twins, aren't they?" LOL

All photos that were taken of us together are 5x7's...and black and white, like most photos of the time, unless they were hand-tinted. Since there is only 1 photo of each pose, I scanned them for both of us to have one of each. I'm making them in original sepia or black and white, and also making copies that I'm tinting in photoshop. I'm working on getting better at the tinting. I tinted these, I remember these dresses our mother made for us.

So you say that I and Kudzu started the subject of twins?Hum, I don't immediatley remember that but if you say so I'll take it. I do have sisters that are twins~ fraternal twins at that! The older one (by 5 minutes)(Sherrie) is short and dishwater blonde, pale complexion with blue eyes---soft spoken, but can zing anyone the moment she does speak. The other one, Kerrie is taller than me with olive tone complexion, brown hair and eyes and is very outspoken! My Grammie would always refer to them as the "twins" which drives them batty. They are nothing alike. But, sometimes Kerrie and I are mistaken for the twins because we do look more alike. I have a friend from church (valerie) that lots of people think we are twins or at least sisters. Actually the funny thing is that her husband came up behind me at service and almost gave me a hug---until he realized that I was not his wife! Now that would have been too weird. If I really were an identical twin I would want to do something about myself to make ME look different from my sister.

I've always wanted to know just how many copies of me that there are in the world and who designed these thighs for us??????

Cherry your noses look similar in the pic. What a couple of cuties anyway. My mom's younger sisters are identical twins, and at 75 they still look similar. But when they were young they were so much alike that their kids would occassionally mistake one for the other!
People used to tell me that I looked just like a receptionist at a doctors office here in the same town. Occassionally people who know me slightly even mistake me for her. I never sought her out and I don't want to!

My two youngest daughters are identical twins...5 minutes apart. They have lived directly across the street from one another for about 13 years now and delivered baby girls 2 days apart 11 years ago. (My middle (of 4) daughter and daughter in-law also gave birth around the same time...all within 11 weeks.)

Love this thread! Growing up, people would ask if my brother Doug and I were twins. Here's a picture of me with my three brothers. Doug is in the top middle. I'm in the bottom middle. In grade school, people asked if I had been retained because I was 2 years behind my "twin" brother. Lately, people are commenting how much Doug and I look alike. This is a funny thread. Kudzukween and Kirk, you certainly were cute kids (and great looking adults too).

Somewhere I have a doppelganger and her name is Mary. I have never met her but I seem to be often mistaken for her. Another problem I have is someone else has the same first and last name as I do here in the Milwaukee area. Her dad was a local eccentric character who legally changed his name to Crazy Jim. Before he died, I often had people ask if my dad was Crazy Jim to which I replied, "No, mine is Crazy Ralph." he-he I have an unusual last name so this is very strange. The two of us had the same doctor years ago. I had to make sure when I called for an appointment that they pulled my file and not hers.

ROTFL .... OMGosh, Purplemoon & Cape...you are so-o-o-o cute... and I love the slippers and the purple polk-a-dot bikini. When I was a kid, my BestF and I panomined the song "Itsy-Bitsy, Teeny-Weeny, Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini"...remember that one? ... for the PTA talent show! OMG, that qA a long time ago! We thought we were "twins"...connected at the hips...good childhood friends!

When I was a senior in HS when I met my 'twin'. She was a freshman. For weeks my friends were telling me there was a freshman walking around who could be my twin, and if not, definitely my sister. A couple of months went by, people were still asking me if I had seen her yet, no, and then one day I'm walking down the hall and I see her at the same time she spots me. We even started pointing at each other, "It's YOU!" We laughed, introduced ourselves, tawked a bit. She ended up going out with one of my friends - Henry, a great guy, amazing storyteller and poet (at least in HS) - and we became friends. Can't remember her name for nuthin', though!! LOL
