Grubs grow up and turn into beetles. Many beetle species an be pests in the garden. When I find grubs, I throw them into the lawn so the birds can eat them for me. 1) Do you rotate your crops? 2) Have you ever had your soil tested by a lab? 3) Do you fertilize with anything? If so... with what and how much? 4) What are your watering methods? 5) How would you describe your soil? 6) Do you incorporate compost?

I planted my cucumber plants in a 30 inch pot (there are two plants) in mid May, about a week after I got them. They had perfect, green leaves for a while after I planted them. But, lately, I've noticed the leaves have holes in them:and the edges are drying up:but, it's still producing cucumbers. In fact, it's the second time it's produced. I had know idea cucumbers can reproduce. These are the cucumbers: I water the plant when it needs it, and try not too get the leaves wet. Does anybody know why the leaves are partially drying up?

Without a doubt! Thrips. I have them and its a constant fight. They destroy all my buds. They are sucking insects and if you grow Gardenia's or Hibiscus, they are Thrip magnets. I'm considering cutting them down but my Gardenia is huge and beautiful. A good control is Spinosid (not sure of the spelling) . You have to spray every two weeks while the buds are forming. It is organic and safe to use. Thrips will attack all orchid buds. They love Vandas and Phals but will go after anything they can get their miserable mouths on! Sorry about your plant. We bought a few plants I don't know what type but the vendor said that they need full sun, They are in full sun and I give them a good soaking in the am but by mid-afternoon they are drooping. Any suggestions? If I transplanted them to larger pots would that help?
