Kathy....damn if I know what to say at this point. You and Bob just keep getting slammed down it seems. While you're at work, can you fix a cooler with some food/drinks to put by his bed or chair. since he's so weak and on those pain meds? I hope another ER trip isn't necessary.
And now your own news of surgery on top of all else. My heart just breaks for you both.

Makes my anger at my husbands employer seem little. He's stuck in a parish in LA that is in the direct line of Gustav. Gosh, I just am flabergasted at what you and your BF are going through. Tears are brimming my eyes for you dear person!!! Sounds like Bob needs home care while you are away at work is there no one, family or friends, that can stay with him during the day!! I know you will be soo worried. Please know that you are both in my prayers.

I pray for God to give the doctors wisdom to help you make the right choices.Please take care of yourself and check in when you can. I wish we all lived closer together to help each other out in times like these.

Does your county have any "visiting nurses?" We have them here in Iowa and a nurse or caregiver will stop in once a day for just a short time to check up on a person. They are certainly a blessing!

So sorry to hear things arn't going so well. Could you ask a neighbor to check up on him or if you call & can't get him maybe as neighbor to be backup if needed. Lunch in a cooler is good idea & some drinks & fruit. Hope your surgery goes well, lot of times they worry you & it turns out to be nothing. Hopefully you will both be doing better soon. Honestly, Kathy...I'm beside myself over all this! You two have had such a terrible time of it for such a long time now.

You have managed to keep such a great attitude in spite of all the downfalls. You're quite amazing!

Like Brenda said...it's too bad we don't live closer together, so we could help out during times like this. At least we provide emotional help for one another via these posts. They mean so much to each and every one of us who at one time or another feels as if we are at the end of our rope.

I read or heard something the other day about doctors having their patients chew gum to help with the pain after abdominal surgery. Something new they've discovered...but I don't know much about it. You might check into it.

I like Karen's suggestion of putting food and beverages in a cooler for Bob to keep near him while you're at work. That would make it easier for Bob and relieve your mind.

Kathy, use2becapecodr said it all for me, too. I can't believe you guys have had such a hard time of it all lately. It just doesn't seem fair at all. Wish we could be there with you both for any comfort and support, but I know that our prayers would reach you anywhere that you are. Karen had a genious idea of the cooler by the bed. Please keep us informed and darling, God Bless you and remember we love you guys. Sorry for the problems tha you are having at
the same time....Sometimes is seems that when it rains
it pours..
I also had a lump in my breast when Bill was so sick
but it turned out just to be that--a lump....
Hope that is the case with you!

Thank you all for the prayers! I told someone at work that I have so many people praying for Bob that I'm hoping God will get so sick of hearing them that he will help Bob recover that much faster! lol!

He seems to be doing a little better. I took him to his regular doctor on Thursday. They took some blood tests and a chest x-ray (he is still complaining of pain below his ribs). We will have to wait and see what the doctor finds.

I saw the surgeon yesterday about my boob. He scheduled surgery for the 15th. It will be an outpatient type of thing and I won't have to even spend a night in the hospital. This should be interesting ... he said they have to cut by the nipple, flip the skin up and remove the bad duct ... all this without putting me under? And I thought the fish hook in the nipple (galactogram) was uncomfortable!

I will continue to keep everyone posted on Bob's progress. Thanks again for all the prayers and well wishes! I love you guys!

Luna, They will give you a local all you will feel is pulling. It's not so bad. I went home & vaccumed with the other hand. Glad Bob is doing some better. He has been through so much takes a while to get back to normal. Don't think I've heard of so many surgeries so close before so his poor body is wondering "What's going on!!" Hopefully after the 15th things will really get better rapidly. It's the waiting that's hard. Both of you get well soon & continued prayers for you both! Jan
