My 18 month old nephew is having surgery tomorrow, your prayers are appreciated for this special little guy. His name is Charlie and he's been in Texas Children's since Friday for an abcessed gland in his jaw line/throat. He is such a good sport about things, after the nurses put in his iv's he tells the nurses 'bye bye' and blows them kisses, he looks like a he has the measles from all the sticks. You can see the swelling around his dimple. :(

Ahhh, the angels will be watching over "Charlie" tomorrow...catching those butterfly kisses...who could resist that sweet little face and curly hair? God be with you, your family and this sweet little guy...prayers coming your way. Jeanne S.

WOW...I love his sweet smile! And that awesome curly hair!! What an cutie!!

Marantas don't grow upright, as far as I know. Mine grows in a hanging pot so that the foliage can hang over. Yours may need brighter indirect light. I grow mine outdoors hanging from a tree. It gets some early morning sunlight, but is shaded for the rest of the day, receiving some very bright (but indirect) sunlight. When plants don't receive sufficient light, they can't support having a lot of leaves. I just spray mine with the garden hose every other day. (It dries out pretty fast in this Arkansas Summer heat.) Mine has been blooming now for two months. At first, I almost didn't even notice the blooms, because they're so tiny. But now it's covered in them. The individual flowers don't last very long, but more spring up to replace them.

Thank you for telling me what I know should have happened long ago. My sister and brother-in-law are both lawyers.We haven't wanted to upset Diane right now because of her health.But, we are going to ask Bob to help us get him out of here.Like I said, I don't want them to take them, I just want to know how to get him out.When Ken was in the hospital back in March because of taking to many pain pills, I asked the nurse case worker how I could get him out. She told me that because he was a relative and that I had let him move in, the only way to get him out was to take him to court. That doesn't seem right, and because of mine and Jim's health issues, I didn't go further.You asked me if he had mental or physical issues that would make him encapable to take care of himself. He somehow graduated from HS, has held jobs, only ones that Jim or my Dad got for him, and is not so much in pain from his back that he can't work. Sears let him go because he told them that he could only come back to work if he could work for two hours and be able to sit for 20 minutes when he needed to. The disability that he is getting is from insurance that he is payin #179. a month. It is not Government disability.As far as mental, he is really a filthy person.He doesn't shower, my children came over and tore up the carpet in his room, and painted his room purple, what he wanted. And his room is filthy already.I put his microwave and toaster oven on the porch because it is filthy and I don't want it in my house.Shortly after he moved in,I found bugs in the house so made him pay for an exterminator. He pays that every month.Sorry for venting, but that is about all I have done since he has been making our life even more miserable lately. He told me he is perfectly happy here, isn't leaving, and I can't make him leave. New Years resolution. He will leave here. We have looked into HUD houses, but they do inspections and you have to keep the place clean. So, if he doesn't and once he is out, he is not coming back. My Jim use to be a locksmith and this will be one happy job for him Thanks again, for listening.

So sorry Rich. The same kind of thing happened to my best friend's mother, so hard to go through. But you did the best you could so hopefully time will help ease the pain of it. Meanwhile, sending loving thoughts to you and your family as you go forward in grief. Sounds like you have some helpful folks around which makes a big difference at a time like this. So sorry for your loss!!

I sure hope you continue to treat your doctors and nurses the same way---be a good sport, especially when they bring you jello or ice cream! :-) We'll be waiting to hear because we're sending up prayers for you!

Ooohhh my he's darling!!! I hope things went well. My dd had cat scratch fever at 2yrs and had to have her lymphnode lanced to get out all the infection. Very scary for parents.

Charlie is just irresistable. What a doll. A smile like that could light up the darkest night. I bet the nurses and doctors all have fallen love with him.

How is he doing? He is adorable. I love that you posted his picture. When I was working in the ICU/CCU setting, I would have the families bring in pictures of the patient. I thought it would help the patient to see pictures of themselves with family members, etc., but the added benefit was that the nurses got to see the person, not just the patient. I love praying on the requests of our "family members" here, but I have to admit, the fervency was stronger here. How could it not be. Does that make sense?

Charlie is being released from the hospital today!!!!!
Everything went fine as God and his Angels watched over him and his caregivers. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for everyone's prayers.

Thank you so much for your good wishes, it truly helped the family get through this difficult time.

I am so thrilled out the outcome of this
adventure that little Charlie was on....
I know he was thrilling the Dr's & Nurses...
and brought them GRRRRREAT JOY....
But he is now where he is suppose to be...
H O M E & with his Family !!!!!!!!!!!!

It hasn't been a good day here...but this has made me sooooooo happy!! I am so thankful that little Charlie is doing well!!
