Green (unripe) tomato variety flavors

I am growing mostly heirlooms, with a couple of hybrids thrown in. Since I care more that my Brandywines, Black Krims, and Kellogg's Breakfasts get ripe versus the Raad Reds (via free seeds) or Red Suns (because cutworms got a couple of plants and I wanted to replace them), I would prefer to make some fried green tomatoes or green tomato pickles using the hybrids. (I know that home-grown ripe hybrids are yummy - I just love the heirlooms and try to grow and taste different ones. I am not trying to start a flame war.)

Therefore, my question is:

Do all tomato varieties taste pretty much the same when unripe?
