computer freezing up!

Anybody else having a frozen computer problem lately on Gardenweb? It's been happening to me on 2 different forums and on 2 different computers, which is why I suspect it might be a problem for others too.

It just happened again when I tried to post this.

According to discussions over on the Computer forums here it is a chronic problem if you use IE but then I can't imagine why anyone would use IE anyway. No problems are reported with either Firefox or Chrome browser users.

It just froze for me over on Firefox which is why I am now on IE.

I had the same problem with a video I downloaded. What I had to do was boot up in safe mode, right click on the file, and then left click on Delete. The Dr. Watson box came up, but I was able to drag it to the side and confirm that I wanted to delete the file. Problem solved.

Correct. Here is my speech for running 2 anti virus, I keep this in notepad because i use it so often, and just paste it in when required... The real-time protection of two antivirus programs may conflict with each other and cause the following: * False Alarms: When the anti virus software tells you that your PC has a virus when it actually doesn't. * Conflicts: Your system may lock up due to both products attempting to access the same file at the same time. * Performance: More that one antivirus will cause your PC to become slow and it may even crash or blue screen. * Less protection: Two antivirus trying to scan the same file may interfere with the process and allow a malicious file onto the computer without notice to you.

To clarify-what I get are on line magazines-they are free subscriptions, so all the pop up advertising makes them free, and I have gotten them for a long time. Used to have lots of pretty rooms, lots of good recipies, things like pretty front doors, entrys, etc. and one thing I always liked starting about Oct. 1 they do 100 days of holidays,, with everything from pumpkin decorating, party ideas, lots of indoor and outdoor decorating ideas, holiday meal plans, just loads of all kinds of stuff. Only recently have they been so difficult to view. I really miss going thru all the pretty photos, getting ideas, etc. but it is now taking waaaaay toooo long, and sometimes even impossible to view them.

For some reason, lately my IE has been redirecting me to ads when I use Google. I have to figure out what that's about. Other than that, no problems for me.

Nope, been using Firefox and haven't had a bit of trouble.

I have Diectway/Hughsnet/ firefox and have been getting DNS "unable to look up" type junk for months now!
EVERY time I go into a different area, I get the DNS thing and I have to reboot the thing I was looking at!
