Update on my Peace Lily
Comments (1)Oh I do not think you are being silly at all. I have only had my peace lillies ( yes I have ended up with 3)almost 3 months now but I have learned from each one of mine They each are different as far as watering so I have to watch them each day to see if they want a drink. One I have blooms a lot, one still has blooms on it, and one never has bloomed. I am very glad you are enjoying you new plant and if it makes you smile then it is always good. Keep up your good growing habits. Ann in So Ut...See MoreMy Peace Lily got brown tips on the leaves after i watered it?
Comments (3)Whenever you remove part of the roots (including damaging during repotting even if you don't root prune) the plant is put out of equilibrium. The amount of leaves to roots is a delicate balance and so when you take the roots, the leaves sacrifice themselves (the oldest) to put extra energy into recovering lost root mass which will actually increase overall vigor and health of the plant. The same goes if you prune a plant back way far. The b plant uses root material as a sacrifice to put out a flush of new growth so photosynthesis can again commence....See MoreDoes anyone know what I need to do to save my Peace Lily?
Comments (15)Every single new leaf that has come up gets brown tips before it unfolds and will end up like the others in the picture and eventually the whole stock dies and the stalk just falls off. I have tried trimming the bad leaves by cutting them to take stress off the plant but that has not helped. That is what you see that may look like new leaves, but it is not. This has been going on for almost a year, and at one time it was a full beautiful plant. I have had the plant in several locations in my home with more light then low light and then more light. I read that someone in another thread posted how they put theirs in the bathroom for warmth and humidity and since we have a sunlight in ours, I figured I would try that, but not directly under the light. I dont know how I feel about putting it on the porch since we have animals that may disturb it. I don't know if it needs fertilizer and what kind? I'm worried at this point it may kill it. I have never fertilized it (but never did any of my ivy plants and they were ok). I'm wondering if it is disease....See MoreWhat is on my peace lily?? Pest, pollen, something else?
Comments (2)They're likely tiny particles from the inner part of the plant's flower, the stubby part (spadix) inside the whitish leaf-like bract (spath). It's entirely normal. I hope that's not a self-watering pot, as they can be trouble....See Moresewnjoy
