I took this pic today. Ok, I know it doesn't look like much, but, while in SC last Dec, I plucked a seed from a very large outdoor potted sago, these plants are all over the south.
The seeds are as big as walnuts, red and fuzzy.
I had no idea how long something like this would take to germinate, if at all. It took all of 7 months to sprout!
It had two other fronds, but they dried up on me, probably because the soil was dry for to long.
I sent this little sago back to SC (sister's) this morning where I'm sure it will be MUCH happier planted in ground.
