Grapes are well adapted to handle these late freezes. They have secondary and tertiary buds that are dormant and the new growth from these buds will even produce a crop on many types, although it will be smaller than what would have been produced on the primaries.

I have not seen any plant damage that could be attributed to chipmunks. Those I have seen around here are seed eaters and do not eat plants, unless the rabbits get blamed for chipmunk damage. The primary concern with chipmunks is the tunneling they do under buildings.

Yesterday it was 90+ here in MD. What is this frost stuff you speak of. Is it like the stuff that builds up in my freezer?? ;-) Oh, and if anyone has some extra rain they could send this way that would be GREAT!! Drought sucks! Two days of piddly drizzle all month is all we've gotten. Jen

Treb, if only you lived near us! I have often lamented my cracked sink that failed shortly after the kitchen remodel, We are having to replace a whole run of granite just to replace the sink. It had to be the longest run in the kitchen.. They are finally coming next week to template. There was no way to get the sink out. We tried, it has a large flange and it's under mounted into a bit of smaller cabinet but fit easily enough if you never had to remove it. We couldn't find our original granite again and the place we got it is out of business. I chose something similar but it's not ever going to be right. $2300 just for that long run of granite, ouch. It took awhile to justify, but the plumber said it could start leaking due to rusting out the cast iron under the enamel. It's ugly too from the enamel being all cracked and pock marked. It was brand new when installed and expensive and a well known brand. Yeah, my nickname is Lucky...
