About a foot tall. I had to put a bamboo stake near it so I wouldn't mow it over. Few of my trees are bigger than that when planted. I planted a 3-leaved American Beech I dug from my sister's woods. My brother mowed it over. It is now over my head (7-8ft). That was 18 years ago, but they truly grow slow. On the other hand, I planted an 8 inch Magnolia grandiflora stick, not brown back leaf, that is about 22 ft. tall. That was also about 20 yrs. ago. For height measurement, I use a straight bamboo stick. You cut it the length of the distance from the web between the thumb and forefinger to your eye, when your arm is extended 90 degrees from your body. To measure the tree, hold the stick with your arm completely extended, perpendicular to the ground and parallel to your body. Walk towards the tree in question (keep your arm 90 degrees from your body). When the stick is exactly as tall as the tree in your eye, the tree is as tall as you are from the trunk. Hint: hold the stick nearer the bottom so that you won't be lifting your arm as you walk towards the tree.

THIS IS THE WORST ADVICE EVER! I hosed everything before sunrise....and they turned into mush. Absolute distraction, unrepairable. And guess what? Everything else in the neighborhood (not hosed down) survived with only minor impact. DO NOT HOSE OFF FROSTED PLANTS! It seems the rapid unfreezing actually does more damage than letting them unfreeze naturally. Back to my graveyard of a garden...never seen such dramatic destruction.

ÂX I noticed that the wandering jew was starting to grow back so I cut off the mushy brown leaves. ÂX I also took the dead leaves off of the lantana and potato vine because they too have started to grow back. But that¡¦s it. ÂX I¡¦ve left the crotons, bouganvilla, thunbergia, ixora, and passion vine alone ¡V they look the worst. ÂX I think that the parilla magilla is already dead. Anyone know if they might come back? ÂX I¡¦ve also left the palms the way they are. I just have anxiety about how to trim them when it¡¦s time¡KI also don¡¦t know how to trim the travelers tree. ÂX I scratched the bottom of the bark on the thunbergia and ixora and saw green, so I imagine they¡¦ll grow back. ÂX I can actually see new shoots at the bottom of the xanadu and would LOVE to chop off the top weeping leaves, but I¡¦m being a good girl and letting it look ugly. Teeka ¡V hello, we used Benjamin Moore paints for the color of our house. The base color is Wilmington Tan and the trim is Standish White. You have to be careful with the trim. Initially, we had regular white that we already had a gallon of. It was too contrasting and there was no warmth, it looked pretty bad so we had to repaint the trim. We used Standish White and it looks nice, but we would have preferred something even darker to create less of a contrast. Good luck!

No expert but it could actually be a combination of both the very cold weather we had and some herbicide damage. I had several nights below freezing in mid May too and have noticed a lot of tips looking odd. Not exactly freezer burned but just not right. I've just been snipping them off and waiting for new growth. Herbicide damage does look an awful lot like RMV in the strange leaf growth but I don't see any of the other symptoms of RMV like over thorny or a larger cane coming from a smaller one. If it is herbicide all you can do is water them a lot and try and flush it out of the soil around the plant. Since some of them are so small yet I hesitate to say to prune off anything.
