Cream of Saskatchewan is an icebox size melon. averges about 10 lbs. I grew White Sugar lump years ago when it was a Henry Fields exclusive. I can't tell the difference between the two. Have grown the CS White fleshed which is virtually identical to the old Willhite's Yellow Fleshed Black Diamond. Pale Yellow, but not enough to really be considered a white. 25 lb class. White wWonder, I have not grown, but its desciption sounds like one of the parents of Yellow Doll. Very pale ( closest to white flesh), softball size and very brittle. Cream of Saskatchewan will stand normal handling, stands up better than Orangeglo. But if yoou drop it from a height of more than 6 inches it will break. It is not one of those that you can roll off the back of a truck and have it bounce. White Fleshed Suka is a new name to me. Have not encountered it.

My first iris opened yesterday, but I don't think it's quite right . . . I think the frost caused a problem for the bud, because the petals and falls are all twisted. Of course, I just moved to this house and inherited these irises, so maybe that's what they always look like, but I doubt it. I've already killed all six broccoli that I raised from seed, by leaving them uncovered for the hard frosts, and damaged the 4 that I bought to replace them by forgetting to water them for a few too many days when my brand new sprinkler broke. Sigh. We might still get broccoli this year . . . On the bright side, the orchard is looking nice. All the little trees that I planted about a month ago are looking happy, with either buds or flowers on all the apples except two (well, three including the one that I killed with too-fresh manure, despite innumerable warnings), buds on the evans cherry, and saskatoons that look like they are planning to set fruit, even though they're only 2.5 ft tall. The bleeding heart is finally getting sizable buds, it took so long that nobody (including me) believed that it WAS a bleeding heart. Most of the veggies are happy too, the peas were completely unperturbed by the multiple frosts since I planted them on May 4, and all the corn and beans that were up seem to have survived with covers. Some of the corn even survived with no covers, it's a good thing it was only 1 inch tall! Three days ago I was pretty depressed, but now I'm ready to forgive and forget . . . as long as that's the last frost until fall :) It's nice to hear from other gardeners going through the same things I am, I think I like this forum! It makes me feel better, and I pass on the feeling to a friend who just moved from Vancouver to Saskatoon . . . this is her first spring there, and she's trying to start a new garden, in this crazy spring. It sounds like you're doing exactly what I'm doing. My main cabs are going to be a medium tone with a dark glaze and the island will be a stain called Raisin that has been rubbed and distressed. The first pic is of my sample doors, backsplash tiles and granite. Like others, I think as long as your colours are consistent they'll just blend and be harmonious and it won't matter that they are different siding styles. We have a shed we built that sits right on the driveway at the front of our house so it's visible to everyone. We went with Hardi-panel cement siding for it and the house is stone. We kept our colours consistent rather than going for something different on the shed and it blends well - doesn't look like the shed was an afterthought or shouldn't be there. tess Here is a link that might be useful:
