Dang. Heartbreaking to see your pictures. Hope you can nurse them back. I was thinking overspray too, but I have a similar problem with leaf curl but no drying. I believe I used too much compost. The man at the nursery suggested too much water; we have had a lot of rain lately. Also, he said to cultivate around the plants to release any gasses that may be trapped in the soil. I'll try anything, but it's too soon to tell. Wish I had more info for you.

I am in a panic about this same problem. My grape tomato is really going down the tubes in a hurry. I noticed the wilt 2 days ago and now a couple of branches are close to dying. Now I think a couple of other tomato plants are doing the same thing. A giant pumpkin vine is wilting-probably has squash bores or something hopefully not related to my tomato thing. We've got the wisconsin blues for sure. We wait and wait for fresh veges and then the bugs come or the blight.

Do your leaves have some purple on the edges? Just curious, and did the leaves start out curling, or any yellowing spots?? Does it happen to the bottom of plant, upper or?? Could be both but without seeing any leafspot, I can't say. You said it got a lot of watering! DARN THAT GARDEN SITTER, same thing happend to me, except, they didn't turn off the water, and the soaker hose stayed on for 3 days. MY BILL WAS HUGE! If the leafs curl upwards and tend to get kind of thickened and leathery,could be physiological leaf roll. Given the very artificial and far from normal environment for plants that size the cause could be several things. If the were outside and looked like that I would suspect the plants were root bound in the pots. And that may well be the case. But I have no way of knowing the size of your containers they are in. It also sounds as if, assuming these are growing in potting mix and not hydroponically, that you could easily be over fertilizing them. But I have no way of knowing how often "every second watering" is or why you would be feeding them so much so frequently. The most common cause of leaf curl is very inconsistent soil moisture levels - periods of overly wet followed by overly dry etc. Consistent soil moisture levels eliminates the problem. But that is severe curling so without much more info about all the growing conditions you are providing like ambient air temps, growing mix used, size of containers, source of air circulation, etc. etc. this is all just guess work. Sorry. Do you plan to transplant these outdoors? If so how long until they can be moved to a more normal environment? Dave
