HAVE: last chance...seeds for a s.a.s.e.

I still have seeds that need to be gone. AND, I appreciate those who have already sent for some of my seeds!!!

PLEASE send your bubble envelope A.S.A.P. so I can get these seeds gone! I'm throwing away what is left in my kitchen by the 22nd of December. I will need to have them gone by then.

S.A.S.E. - Send "small" Self Addressed "bubble" Envelope with $1 worth of stamps loosely inside the envelope - my choice of seeds (you can tell me what you would like and I'll try to send that to you). I will send 4 different types of seeds per trade.

These are all fresh seeds (2007) !!

I have:

prairie coneflower

monkeygrass (green liriope)

yellow mullein

cannas, red/yellow

heirloom tomatoes

red bell peppers

butternut squash

mixed daylily seeds

dark blue succulent (forgot name)

cherry tree

jackmanii clematis

aster frikerii

pink hardy hibiscus

blazing stars

hardy prickly pear cactus (both large and small varieties)

arthurm, I meant how long would it take to develop an epiphytic orchid that can grow on its own here in Southern California. In other words...an epiphytic orchid that can thrive without any supplemental watering. There aren't any epiphytic orchids in Mediterranean climates (winter rain). So orchids that we grow outside year around are tested by our cool/cold winter rains. The more fit an epiphytic orchid is, the better adapted it will be. It will be able to take advantage of the winter rain and grow when other orchids will be resting. Over time the orchids will become fitter and fitter...they'll produce more offspring than the less fit orchids. It's a numbers game. The more orchid seeds we throw at Southern California...the sooner we'll find an orchid that has the combination of inputs/traits it needs to be perfectly adapted to our winter rain climate.

Tomorrow, Susan and I will be planting at the traffic bulges. If any of you are in the UBC area, do drive by the garden/traffic bulges at 8th Avenue & TRimble. Well, I am in my second year of pepper growing and pretty much every bit of advice has come from people on this forum. This is, in fact, the only gardening forum I go to. I hope to have something to offer as seeds this year for trade, though I fear no one would want the varieties I have (pepperoncini, Cayenne, Hungarian Wax, Cali Gold, Red Bell, Anaheim, Inferno) since they are fairly common. Hopefully next year Ill have some more interesting things to contribute. All that said, I think it's awesome that folks here will share seeds that represent thier hard work and passion for peppers!This thread was the first time I had become aware that it was a common thing to do. So thanks to all you guys who do such a cool thing. Tim
