farmgirls: This is the time for a new thread with your new subject, which can be achieved by clicking on the "post a message" above at left, but we'll go ahead here anyway. You are not giving us much to work with in trying to figure out your problem. First, please tell us the source of your fruit trees (i.e. local nursery, mailorder, netorder), their approximate size and age, when they were planted, and whether they were potted, rootballed, or bareroot trees. It wouldn't hurt to tell us where you live either. Is the ooze coming out of the tree at more than one site? Or is it only at the bottom near the graft? If you planted larger, older trees from local nursery sources, it is possible they were diseased when you brought them home with something like bacterial canker. That is why my personal recommendation is to buy stonefruit trees only from professional fruit tree nurseries, such as Adams County in PA, planting only young, bareroot trees. Potted or rootballed trees can bring in their own problems, and seldom grow as vigorously as a small bareroot tree. Trying to advance the fruiting process by planting larger trees is simply not worth it. Sometimes, even a healthy stonefruit tree can ooze sap at the graft the first or even second year after planting. So long as the problem is not borers (which can be identified by their round entry holes), the oozing will usually stop and the tree will heal itself. Hopefully, this is the case with your peach tree. Your choice of the Frost Peach for a zone 9 environment may not turn out to be a good one. This peach was developed as a curl-resistant variety, and is most commonly grown in the Northwestern U.S. It is not well adapted to the hot summer climates of the East or South. I learned this the hard way, since I had a Frost Peach tree here for about 12 years. I had no problems with curl, which rarely occurs here, but the peaches themselves were subject to mildews and they were the most attractive to the oriental fruit moth of any peach variety I have grown -- more than a dozen. In spite of my best efforts of rigorous spraying and tree care, I never saw a ripe Frost Peach in all those years, although I grow other peach varieties here quite successfully. I eventually took the tree out and replaced it with an apple tree. So if you live in zone 9 Northern California you might be ok, but if it is zone 9 Texas it may be a different story. My Jalapenos are the same. I just assumed that they were either old leaves, or sunburned ones. Jalapenos have had leaves like that all summer - and healthy ones - and has been producing just fine. But I don't _know_, I just assumed.

Not necessarily overwatered. Edema is caused by environmental conditions of moderate temperatures, fully moist soil (or potting mix), and relatively high humidity. Not damaging.

If those are the only 2 spots that look like that, they aren't a problem. FYI: Never use soap solutions on succulent plants because you're likely to damage the plant with your "treatment." Please post an "after" image of the entire plant.
