Arctic thats great. Congrats. Your pictures always make me so envious. :P As others have mentioned, seedlings should never be given the same cultivar name as it's parent even if self-pollinated. Officially named plumerias were registered with certain characteristics noted in the registration. While some seedlings may resemble their pod parent's flowers closely they may take on different traits in their gene pool for better or worse (often things that aren't readily apparent such as increased disease resistance, vigor, propensity to bloom, etc.). You can name it whatever you want. But to make it official, register it with the Plumeria Society of America if you find this seedling to be outstanding among others in performance, fragrance, or other characteristics.

The rose was planted by my Granddaddy Mosley (Mother's father) many years prior to his death in 1982. While I don't remember when, I saw the rose many times while growing up. It was planted in an old tire beside the house. It didn't receive much sun in it's later years. I spoke to my Mother this morning, she believes Granddaddy planted it between 1950 and 1955. After his death, the rose received little or no care. In the spring of 2008 my mother's friend, Preston, took the only green shoots off the old stalk and was successful in rooting them in water. He planted the 2 which survived in front of my Mother's old flower bed. I took some cuttings from them this spring and have 2 surviving in pots right now. Below are pictures of this rose. Please help me identify it. As I have said, it is a very resilient rose and one I hope to propagate and distribute among my family. I appreciate their assistance. They also suggested it may be Talisman, Signora and Sutter's Gold. After comparing the pictures (I can't see the roses right now as they are 200 miles from me), I can't tell about the coloration BUT seems to me the "real thing" is much more pink. My color seeing abilities are not the greatest but I think they are solid pink. I thought this might be the best forum to post in --- didn't see it until I had already posted in the main forum.

Notice the fasteners integral with the body of the furniture appear to be pop rivets. Those to the doors, brass screws. A homeowner replacing old brass with modern hinges wouldn't be likely to use two different kinds of fasteners to put in one new hinge. However, that would make the doors easily removeable for shipping and reassembly, or allow it to move down an assembly line faster and leave the screw insertion to the worker installing the doors. I suspect these are factory installed and don't appear on true vintage furniture. I also side with modern 'Mexican Rustic'. Are the shelves veneered or laminated? That's another thing to look at. In modern repros of old furniture, sometimes shelves are, to cover the use of particle board construction.

Thanks guys. The cottage is about 5 hours north of Fargo right on the lake. Great location and much of the expensive stuff has been done (decks, roof, levelling). We acquired it from my in-laws legally in the last little while, but we've been using it for many years. Now that it is ours and they no longer are able to make it out there, I am ready to (slowly) fix a few things. They took great care of it, but somethings just need to be changed - aesthetically and functionally. The backsplash is just sheet laminate (I think that's the right term?) over top of the fake wood panelling. The cabs are really solid, but nailed (big nails) and built right in place. I'm worried if I try to take them off, they will be toast. The backs of the cabs are all one piece and then the fronts are nailed to the one long back. However, I think I will try to (carefully) pry them off on the fridge side and see what happens. The stove is as old as the cabin and while the elements (usually) work, the oven does not and it keeps blowing fuses. I had an electrician in this past weekend and he says it wouldn't be hard to run the electrical for the stove to where the micro is and then I could get a 30" stove. I'm just not sure I want to be cooking with my back to the room (altho I just realized that is my set up at home and I don't mind it). I'm thinking that if I can get the upper cabinets off, I could have someone come in and drywall just the 3 walls of the kitchen. That would be doable financially and open up more possibilities. I keep putting off painting the fake wood ( I know it's awful) thinking of different solutions (paintable wallpaper, adding vertical wood strips and then painting to make it look like board and batten rather than painted panelling, taking down the panelling and doing vertical shiplap, etc.).
