So... my babies... awww :) Ptolemy is the orange tabby, belfry is the black one, and Mudpuddle is the white one with the spots :)

Hi Julianna,

What cute kitties. How long have you had them? Will you be able to take them overseas with you. Was I correct that you are moving to Jordan?

Hi Larry! Ptolemy (top one) is 8, Puddles (bottom one) is 5, and Belfry (the black one) is 3 :)

I shouldn't have to worry about taking them overseas since we won't be moving over there for a while.. right now we're working on immigration for him and he won't be able to come here until that is set... if he can get a student visa that will be the fastest even though it's not a green card... but otherwise I may be looking at not seeing him for the next 9 months.

Don't feel bad about it. It's not like we all haven't done it at one time or another. I just spent several months going from store to store, trying to find 5/8 inch drip line. My whole system is 5/8, which apparently is no longer available. There is no such thing as an adapter to reduce 5/8 to the 1/2, which is the only thing available. Oh duh. I just figured out I can buy the 1/2 inch, put a garden hose adapter on the end and simply screw it together with the already existing garden hose adapter on on 5/8 inch line. No kidding, I have been to every plumbing and garden store in the county.

Deb, I am the same way. My brother passed away over a year ago (I did not find out about that until 2 months afterward), and my mother just this past January. I think about death almost all the time now, and if not exactly death, then how my end will come, what disease will I get, who will take care of me. I read about the wonderful people on the caregivers forum, and as I have no children, I wonder what will become of me (I'm 45). What happens to those who can no longer speak for themselves? What happens? Sometimes the fear grips me so bad, I fear "losing it". Maybe that will be my punishment for not helping with the caregiving for my mother, and now for my very ill father. My sister was/is in charge of all that. Why? A long story...and I feel that although I am not entirely blameless in how things turned out, the twists and turns of our lives, our actions, our words, or lack of them, our whole family, led to the tragic situation as it unfolded. But I still feel guilt. When not thinking about death, I have other such morbid thoughts, like having visions/dreams of someone chopping down all my old trees after I'm gone, bulldozing my beloved perennial garden, throwing out my knick-knacks, books, letters.... That's too bad, so the U.S mail delivery system won't send any plants or something else to Finland, did I get it right? The customs in Finland won't stop any cuttings to the border, that's for sure. Plants shipped to commercial use is a whole different story. Nevertheless, it seems to be prohibited which is completely new news to me, so it's best to forget all of this at this point :) I must admit I find it ridiculous, here in a northern country ain't any native plants that would get a disease from citruses etc. It must be something with EU, would not be the first time. Regulations in everything, in some cases plain stupidity! :) Britains exit from EU did not get me by surprise.

if you went to fred meyer, then I assume you're in the pacific northwest? you will want to put it in the sunniest, most south facing window you have for the fall/winter/early spring. not sure if that guy can handle direct summer sun, so I'll let somebody else answer that part. since we share the same region, I'll share my succulent routine: really soak the soil all the way through when watering and let it drain (it's easiest to do this at a sink or if you have a deep dish under the pot). have it dry thoroughly between waterings. every 2 weeks has worked really well for me in Seattle, even the plants that didn't thrive at first. your terra cotta pot choice is perfect, it allows it to not stay too damp.

Oh, they are good looking kitties. Dare I ask about the rest? Mine are adjusting to being OutDoorsMen very well. They have ALL learned to climb the fence, even though they are quite aged. I would never have thought a 12 yo would be interested in another yard. They hunt chickens, and lay about. The eldest, male Siamese stays out until rain, or 53* whichever comes first. In clement weather, he stays out nearly 23 hours a day!

Hey Cena! (BTW I got your email and responded).

Christopher threatened and screamed and threw things at me until I finally agreed to take them to the shelter like he wanted. That's what happened to the rest. it broke my heart but I was trying to save a marriage. Didn't work. I still dream about them all the time. As far as I know though, they were all adopted out in a senior's program.
