Hi Everybody!

Hey Everybody, it's been a while. Thought I'd pop back on over to see how everyone is doing. I'm glad to see so many of the folks I chatted with are still here. I'll be eagerly reading your posts for the next hour or so trying to catch up on your life. As for me, I've been good, same ole same ole, except that now I've gotten back into crochet and am learning knitting, am spending most of my time on those forums. I still have lots of plants, though. But I have been successful is scaling down the plant chaos a bit (and replacing it with yarn chaos).

I thought that Bill was a 'fascinating' enough to spend 12 $. You're right, the Netherlands export thousands (or maybe even millions) of Guzmania and Vriesea Hybrids worldwide. Hardly any Neo's and Bills as far as I know. "We're Dutch, it's all about flowers not about foliage." Since we don't get that much sun here as you do, most stay green, even in a south facing window. I chuck everyting outside in the spring so they get full sun all day long, untill winter comes. I really try to bake them and that works fine. Although we had a very very wet summer they all look fine coulorwise, the pots don't dry out enough to my liking this year. It shows in my spectabilis normaly the new leafs are a lot wider. Fireball, and spectabilis really 'pop' that way. Even Vr. Fenestralis has a purple/reddish hue to it (if it's a true fenestralis). Comercialy not very interesting to breed plants that need that treatment I guess. I tried Fenestralis several times and they all wilted away, untill I placed the last survivor on my balcony after a year of hardship. Now it's growing to 'wagonwheel' size Import from US and Oz is not easy, possible but a lot of hassle with import papers. Inside the European Union country to country is no problem. Today I ordered from Germany: Vriesea guttata, Vriesea hieroglyphica, Billbergia nutans hybrid, Billbergia amoena purpurea, Neoregelia ampullacea var. tigrina, Neoregelia kautskyi, Neoregelia liliputiana, Neoregelia pauciflora, Vriesea fosteriana var. seideliana, Vriesea ospinae, Neoregelia schulthesiana Fireball, Thanks a lot Lisa! I'll keep you posted on my progress. This new adventure wil probabily lead to more questions anyway. Here's my fireball, not show quality but red enough for me. Tomorrow I'll post a pic off one off the best Potugal Neos for ID. It is supposed to be "DexterÂs Pride X Bobby Hill and DexterÂs Pride X Carolinae Var. X Cruenta"??? Yeah right... Curious???

Oh, he is a sweetheart with those big blue eyes! Just wait - Darius is 9 months old now and so much fun! Being a grandma is great. I'm finding that i enjoy Darius in a way i didn't have the time to enjoy my own kids, which is a little sad. But that's the way it is, i guess. But hey, crawling around after a baby is a lot of fun! And hearing her say "Bye-bye" and seeing her point to a baby in a book - there are just no words! :)

Junkyardgirl, I know that feeling and it can be very scary when it is happening. The trouble with the EKG is, you have to be having the fluttering at the time, or nothing shows. I finally had a time when I fluttered and the office was opened. I never wanted to go to the ER because I knew it would settle down again eventually. I have had the catheter done before and had an allergic reaction to the dye they used in it. That was a lot of fun! My major concern is wondering how the zapping goes along with my artificial valve (mitral valve I have had for 22 years.) I told you I was a basket case! I bet you thought I was exaggerating! Vannie, 5 #s isn't very much. I guess DH will be waiting on me hand and foot for a week. YIKES! Patti, Thank you for the encouragement about the pacemaker. I hope I don't need that. I remember watching the cath on the screen and that was VERY interesting. HOUSE: We had that showing this morning, but we haven't heard anything. I'm hopeing that they had others to look at, but I know HE really liked the big yard. They will not find that anywhere else around here. I keep checking the properties available around here. PS - I understand that we have a mutual friend in Ryan. He is a really nice guy. He told me about the phone call you two had when he was in the church parking lot where the police questioned him. I talk to Ryan through instant messaging about once a week.

Hi nikki, Yarn is the in! along with plants of course. I gave my girls knitting presents for christmas. I just loved picking out the yarn-what a selection there is these days. Nice to see your post! Diane

My interests also kind of changed - from having an organised plant jungle in the living room to fabrics/ribbons/lace/yarn covered downstairs family/sewing room. I am into designers doll clothes making now. Love every minute of it.
I still lurk this board every couple of days and noticed a lot of people have been dissapearing lately. I still have many of my favorite plans left (mostly hoyas and sans), but considering downsizing even more.
I am glad I am not the only one who is changing hobbies.
Just thought I gave you an update...LOL

Vera and Diane, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with a yarn obsession. Really, it's getting out of control. I just found out that I'm going to South Africa for language study today, and I'm thinking that I should buy some celebratory yarn.
