WANTED: have: okalhoma redbud seeds, roflol where are you?

So I planted an Oklahoma Redbud sometime this past spring/summer. Its all a blur, not really sure when. I would have to use this forum to date everything I do. Anyways, at that time a person by the name of roflol (terri) said they would want some seeds when they are ready.

Well I have a ziplock of about 30 seeds or so. If you are out there roflol you have first crack, after that they are up for grabs. I dont really have anything in particular I want so shoot me some ideas. I currently have on my small lot : lilac trees, wild grasses, hostas, climatis, japanese wisteria, maples , burning bush, alliums, Mums, Viburnums, spirea's and that should about do it.

now that I think about it, it may be unrealistic, but I would love if anyone has an extra Globemaster Alliums to send me one of them.

Below is a link to roflol's member page. If you happen to email and not get a reply, you might get the addy from the form and email privately (non GW) as the mail here is often unreliable.

I would love to have even 2 or 3 of the Oklahoma Redbud tree...but see you have no wish list for plants or seeds.
I wish I had an allium for you.

My seed list is terribly out of date I'm sorry to say. What might you be looking for if you happen to have a few seeds to trade?

Joe, thanks for remembering me. I still have your email, I'll reply directly as well; GWeb mail can be iffy.

Hi VLRON.... I know it's been awhile since you have posted this thread on Garden Web but I thought I'd give you a try. I did a search on "sweet shrub" which is how your post came to the top. A few years ago I moved from Florida (one too many hurricane) and just settled in Missouri. In my Florida gardens I had a sweet shrub growing which I loved. I haven't been able to find any sweet shrubs here locally. Any chance you would part with a few little starts or maybe cuttings that I could possibly root? I would be more than happy to pay postage for them or trade. Don't have a whole lot to offer at the moment other than lots of Christmas cactus cuttings in red and pink/white, and/or rootings from a plant that I don't know the name of....it's a tropical and when you run it through you hand or brush up against it has a pleasant cinnamon type scent. This is a plant however that would have to be brought in during the winter but looks great in a pot as it has alot of foliage. Great for shade patio or decks. Have you planted the redbuds or have you lost them in pots? I'm guessing, but I wonder if while so young they wouldn't benefit from a little protection first winter at least. It's my understanding Cercis reniformis 'Oklahoma' is a little less hardy than the c. Canadensis I typically see around here. Or, it could be possible our winter wet is doing them in - again, I don't know where the seedling has been located but I might consider someplace unheated but semi protected, or protected during icy storms at least until more established, root system and plant in general are larger. If you have it in the ground, you could consider a cage of sorts around it after it goes dormant, burlap or row cover wrapped around for a few degrees of protection.

Do you think it would be ok to plant/sow them in a pot or does this need to be in the ground please? ==>>> you have enough seed.. to try a variety of methods ... and i suggest you do so ... when i have no learning curve ... i do .. say.. 10 seeds every way ... and one of the methods usually works.. based on my level of incompetence ... lol .. when you rely on one methods.... one thing wrong.. total fail ... been there.. done that ... so spread the odds ... i bet in ground ... is the easiest.. most forgiving method.. pots in winter.. can be very problematic .. for the newb ..but maybe not.. in your area .... ken

Sue , here is a post on another forum about what i am trying to accomplish. It is a patio that I am trying to garden around.
Its definitely a work in progress, so maybe you could suggest something you have to swap with me. I am not really all that picky. Ill try anything once ;)

either way I have plenty of seeds to send you a ten or so.
