identifying winter or summer squash?

Okay - this is going to sound stupid to all of you veteran gardeners, but please please please be gentle.

When I planted seedlings inside for my squash plants, the seedlings got all mixed up because someone threw away my chart showing what was in what peat pod. I planted them outside anyways, without thinking I would run into a problem later in the season. But, now I have no idea what is what, which makes it difficult to hand pollinate without cross pollinating.

Is there any way to reliably tell the two apart?
